Voter Registration Drives at Illegal Immigration Rallies
NewsMax.com ^ | April 14, 2006 | Carl Limbacher

Some of the biggest pro-illegal immigration rallies lately have featured a disturbing phenomenon: Democratic Party operatives conducting voter registration drives.

After Sunday's massive illegal-immigration rally in Dallas, for instance, the Dallas Morning News headlined their coverage: "Activists sign up protesters to put them on road to polls."

The paper quoted Lena Levario, a criminal defense lawyer who's running as a Democrat to be a judge:

"I am so optimistic that I have 5,000 voter registration cards," she told the News.

By the day's end, the paper said - Levario had yet to tally the new voters she'd harvested from the massive - and largely illegal - crowd.

But the Democrat hopeful declared: "We are going to march to the end of the November election."

Also working the illegal immigration rally was David Hanschen, another Democratic candidate for judge. He handed out fliers that read: " Vota Democrata en 2006."

Elsewhere activists exhorted: "We march today, we vote tomorrow."

While no one involved in the voter drives would admit to knowingly registering illegals, the phenomenon wasn't limited to the Dallas rally.

The San Diego Union Tribune reports that organizers of that city's weekend march foresaw the potential to harness the energy present in the pro-illegal protests and convert it into Latino voting power.

"I think it is very clear that it has the potential for mobilizing both nonregistered U.S. citizen Latinos as well as pushing Latinos to naturalize," Harry Pachon, director of the Tomas Rivera Policy Institute, told the paper.

Organizers for San Diego's pro-illegal rally made a decision to focus more intensely than originally planned on registering voters, the Tribune said.

"In the process of planning this event, it became clear that we had to do more than get them in the street and make noise," said Matt O'Connor, a spokesman for Local 2028 of the Service Employees International Union in San Diego, which was one of the organizers of the march.

"It's going to be a missed opportunity if we don't do that."

I'd be surprised if they all weren't already registered.

IMO, It's getting closer every day to an all-out Civil War breaking out and blood being shed in the streets of the good ol' USA.

Rush is right... the new immigration bill should be called the "Guest Voter" Program.
The DimocRATS' strategy is all too simple. Never mind that they're not citizens... sign 'em up! It saves a trip to the cemetery to write down names of dead people...

For every new voter they get from these spectacles they may lose a couple.

Elections New Zealand - Criteria for Enrolment to Vote

http://www.elections.org.nz/enrolment/enrolling_detailed_faq.html

How do I know if I am eligible to enrol?

Basically, you are qualified to enrol if:

* you are 18 years or older
* you are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident and
* you have lived in New Zealand for one year or more without leaving the country

...

What is meant by "permanent resident"?

A permanent resident is someone who has not taken up citizenship but who is entitled by law to live permanently in New Zealand. If you have to leave the country by a set date you are not a permanent resident for electoral purposes. This includes people who have student or visitor permits.

...

Are people who are in prison or psychiatric institutions entitled to enrol?

People who are in prison for a term of more than three years are not entitled to enrol while they are in prison. People who have been in a psychiatric hospital for more than three years after being charged with a criminal offence are also not eligible to enrol. Other psychiatric patients are entitled to enrol.

well do the simple maths here:

Democrats who are the EXPERTS at bogus & Illegal voting tactics PLUS Millions of Illegal 'Immigrants' who show up to demonstrate and demand the rights of those natural born and who migrate through the LEGAL Process.

And what do you get = the obvious mass registration of thousands or millions of illegals.

Damm I hate these democrats and their illegal tactics. They are so determined to get power at ANY cost.

Clearly there is no point in being a citizen if these illegal aliens are permitted to register to vote. The Democrats want illegals on the rolls to vote for more socialism and diversion of taxpayer revenues to illegal alien benefit programs.

Nothing short of a complete purge of the voter rolls and required documentation of citizenship to re-register will be necessary to return integrity to the ballot box.

We'll see if the progression from soap box -> ballot box -> cartridge box ensues.

I bet these are the same Dems that scream bloody murder for suggesting we ask for a valid ID to vote.

The ONLY way out of this on Nov. 2 is for all us to rent big white Ford 350 vans with tinted windows that look exactly like INS vehicles and prowl the voting sites.

It must be obvious to even the dimmest bulb that this is the real reason the Dems support illegal immigration. Anyone who would willing enter our country illegally would have no qualms about illegally signing up to vote.

Motor voter -- the same fake documents that get you a driver's license will get you a voter registration card. The Dems salivate at the belief that eleven million illegal votes are enough to influence any election in their favor.

"Activists sign up protesters to put them on road to polls."

I wonder how many of these people want to put down their real name and address. Voter registration brings good things like jury duty.

I wonder how many people are looking over their taxes this weekend, then reading this kind of article and wondering "why bother"?

Why not the Rats register dead people who vote more regularly now than when they were alive.

this really got to me today especially since I live in CA and we are filled with illegals it is bad enough my vote really doesn't count HOW THE HECK CAN ILLEGALS EVEN REG. TO VOTE. My mom did not vote until 1978 when she became a US citizen and she could actually give her oath in ENGLISH because she could actually SPEAK THE LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and for the love of GOD Hillary on one take show she states"we need to fine the employers who hire them" and something to the effect of we are not going to take this illegal stuff
Fast forward to the bogis march on the capital and all of a sudden she is looking at the faces of the dishwashers, the people who clean her crap and on and on (if I were an illegal or anyone else I would be pissed that she didn't say) I look at the future faces of lawyers, doctors, teachers. AND THESE PEOPLE BELIEVE THIS CRAP THE LEADERS FEED THEM I guess they found a group to drink the koolaid I am sorry but this camel back is broken

Voter registration brings good things like jury duty.

Many states do not use voter registration for jury duty.

I guess it is time I registered to vote in Mexico. The country will be emptying out in a few years and it might become a nice place to live.
