New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin is reaching out to his city's residents still living in Houston with a large billboard on the southeast side at the Gulf Freeway and Wayside.
It reads "Re-elect our Mayor Ray Nagin and let's keep New Orleans moving forward."
Members of the ACORN Katrina Survivors Association have arranged for buses to take people back to the city to vote.
Early voting begins Monday.

I saw this billboard on I-45 a couple of mornings ago driving into downtown Houston. I should add that the bill board was right next to a cemetary. The picture doesn't show it, but the cemetary surrounds the other side of the cheap motel where the sign is located.

That is HILARIOUS!!
His slogan is "Keep NO moving forward."????
His buses in the water didn't get anyone moving forward. ha. ha.

That's sick. Is there a statute of limitations on how long you can be a registered voter in a state where you no longer reside? It's been eight months now. If they haven't come back yet, they probably never will.
Yes, New Orleanians, Mayor Ray has buses for you when you need to vote for him, but he had no buses for you when you needed to get the hell out of Dodge.
Damn shame the billboard doesn't say "Rebuild the Chocolate City" on it.

About time for those who are going back to New Orleans to go there already.
If they plan to move back in two years, they should let those living there vote for their mayor and they should look for work in Houston. The anniversary of the event will come before election day.

His buses in the water didn't get anyone moving forward. ha. ha.Hey, now. Cut Mayor Wonka some slack. Those buses are to be mobilized only in case of emergency. A mayoral race for instance.

I hope they all bought round trip bus tickets.
Thanks Houston!

Knock and drag just got federal financing.
The DNC has used buses to get their voters to the polls before but I've never known them to do it on taxpayers money and to bus them in from out of state. Better be sure to have enough cigarettes and walking around money on those buses.

Well under your "racist" opinion, I would be deemed ineligible to vote in any New York or California local election!
Unfair!

LOL! I guess it doesn't matter where you actually live. Nagin took off in the middle of it all and bought a house in TX and enrolled his kids in school there. Makes me ill.

But that's a great idea. Let's say we round up a few million, cross the border and vote in the next Mexican election. For grins, we'll even rally with U.S. flags.
