My current criticism is that the tax code is ridiculously complicated. One line on one form comes with a 110 page document of instructions. That's ONE LINE! And that's not that unusual. Every form refers you to other forms and publications. Even then you need an interpreter for some of these things.

"I am not interested in turning in my 0.065 tax rate, for some idiot's 25%"

How positively open-minded of you...painfully wrong, but still open-minded.

Senator, how about you and all your pals on the hill, locking yourselves up in a room with a calculator, a pencil, tax forms and instructions, and vending machines. You can come out of the room when you fill out your form correctly.

No professional help allowed, or any tax software.

Vending machines will be refilled frequently.

You guys wrote all these stupid laws, you should know how to fill them out.

One solution:

1: Place everyone's deductions into an Income Tax Savings Account.

2: Make everyone write a giant check from that account on April 15th so they can see just how much they really pay.

3: Move Election Day to the 1st Tuesday after 4/15 (and move Inauguration Day to the 4th of July).

I want fair tax, or flat tax! You want fair tax, or flat tax! Everybody wants fair tax!

But nobody wants to listen to me! They like it just the way it is!

Piss on them!

You are correct...I assumed from you post that you are opposed to the Fair Tax, and asserted my view that yours is wrong.
So, with that out of the way, what is your position on the Fair Tax as an alternative to the current Income Tax model?

>"I am not interested in turning in my 0.065 tax rate, for some idiot's 25%"<

-*Your* 0.065 tax rate"?

Have you forgotten the 12.4% FICA tax???
-and the 2.9% tax for Medicare???

Those are covered by the FairTax.
