One more example of why parents should pull their kids out of public schools. The teachers strike to get their way, so why shouldn't parents do the same thing to get teachers to stick to the three r's, and not try to indoctrinate the pupils? Teacher's political leanings have no place in the classroom, so maybe the children should have no place there either.

Why not have a "sick-out"? The schools lose money for every student that doesn't show up.

That is exactly what they should do. Guess what, the parents control the money in this situation and it is all about money.
If the parents initiated a strike and did not send their kids to school for just 1 day the schools would be screaming. They would not get their ADA (average daily attendance) money that they receive for every day that every child is sitting in a classroom.
Parents could actually take back the classrooms with little effort.
