Good luck Illinois! Large cities have become a curse. I wonder is it just because that it becomes so easy for the left to organize and pander?

Topinka is a RINO, similar to Rod in ideology. He victory would be shallow at best.

This is an example of George Will with NO clue what he is talking about. A Topinka win (which is REMOTE at best) will do NOTHING to make the ILL. GOP stronger, revitalized, or better. It will be a mere passing phase during which the Ill. GOP will founder ever worse.

Topinka is not much of a Republican (a Linc. Chaffee sort) and the bulk of the Party is NOT standing for her.

RAT machines have always used their patronage and jobs filling abilities to buy votes of the lower classes. It has been that way from the beginning of the Republic.

Without cities one does not have civilization or culture. Blanket condemnations of them are as silly as complaining that there is an anus in the human body so the whole thing stinks.

No Topinka vote from me. We have the choice between two Democrats this election.

i would prefer to see Topinka win if for no other reason to offset GOP Gov. losses in other states like NY. We have a shot here, in Michigan, Maine and Iowa to flip governorships. Unfortunately the Dems will flip NY and have a shot at CA, CO, Mass., and Maryland

Judy Topinka, 62, the effervescent three-term state treasurer and Republican gubernatorial nominee against Gov. Rod Blagojevich, thinks she can put Humpty Dumpty together again

Never happen. Chicago holds too much of the vote, with too many people living on the public dole. They know which side their bread is buttered on.

If the Washintgon Post is praising this woman, you can bet she's bad news.

See tagline. I recommend we all adopt a similar attitude.

I don't mind having blue state elect RINO's to the U.S. Senate or House, where they're just one of many. But electing a RINO as Governor is a bad idea, as they seem to give conservative sanction to liberal policies.

Bob Taft is the ultimate example of that.

Since 1994, when California Republicans backed an anti-immigrant measure offensive to the Latino population that now is more than one-third of the state’s population, Republicans have won an average of just 41 percent of the presidential vote.

Didn't this pass convincingly? Or am I wrong? Why then does everyone continue to criticize Prop 187.

Anyone who votes for Topinka thinking she is a Republican or represents anything they want needs a psychiatric examination.

Then again, maybe she is what the Republicans have now become. I will never vote for her, no matter what. She is a liberal swine.

The problem with Illinois, is that it about 65% democrat. The only way a republican gets in state wide, is when the down state democrats get the shaft from the Chicago democrats and vote for the Republican.
