The U.S. military has announced that the largest air assualt in 4 years in Afghanistan is underway in Kunar province. It was kicked off 15 hours ago, but a news embargo was imposed. An attempt has been made to keep the Al Queda and Taliban opposition contained so that they will not escape.
Several thousand coalition soldiers are involved. The exit passes are being held since it was believed that too many opposition forces escaped during the previous Operation Anaconda.
Kunar province. Interesting.
Ping
Go get em' !!! God be with all our troops.
"Several thousand coalition soldiers are involved."
I guess this means the terrorists will escape again.
That would be great.
Don't hold your breath though, Bin Laden has gone very deep.
Like Monica?
Think Gulbuddin Hekmatyar -
It is going to be an extremely bad next 6 months for those in the Afghan / Pak border regions - A new phase is beginning for our side -
As for UBL, the odds remain in his favor eking out a survival in this region of the world....but we are going to create our own luck I believe and bag him this year -
I don't believe we'll get the bastard. But I don't think it matters. He is relegated to living under a rock. Hiding like the dog he is.
We should have taken out his whole family though instead of letting them go. Even his dog.
Another idiotic pronouncement by the armchair quarterback brigade!
God be with our brave troops. May they be swift, safe and incredibly effective.
"idiotic pronouncement"
and incoherent
From the halls of Montezuma to the high passes of the Himalayas.......
God speed guys.
Nah, we'll get him along with several others of the big HVTs we've been hunting for the past several years. Without question time was on these guys side in the short run....and because of the terrain and the region of the world were they have take refuge the odds continue to remain on their side to a degree.....but if we can keep the weak-kneed types at State and the Pentagon out of matters to a large degree as possible (regarding Ops in the border regions) we'll eventually nail these SOBs. One by one.
And getting UBL is more important then most even speculate (IMO). It will have a large negative psychological impact on the Arab street once he is killed.
Damadola, the sequel!
If they get Bin laden and Bush's "poll numbers" for approval jump up, then it only shows Americans, at least the ones being polled, have their head in the sand. Maybe they are polling men who can't process more than one thing at a time. I hear women are better at multi-tasking.
