They should consider themselves lucky that it was only the symbolic burning of their flag.

Or do you only reserve criticsim for people who might try and defend the country against a hostile takeover? How is burning the Mexican flag defending against anything?
It's just a stunt to get attention, in the same league with the dopey Mexican kids burning the American flag.

A Mexican official on Monday struck out at a U.S. anti-illegal-immigrant group for burning the Mexican flag outside a consulate in Tucson. Up yours. You got a problem with it? Tell your people up here to stop burning our Flag on OUR soil. Tell them to go back to Mexico to burn whatever the heck they want.

This is an issue for the ACLU to protect the flag burners freedom of expression. The ACLU had observers present at that demonstration specifically to ensure no free speech rights were violated.

i guess it is OK for mexican nationals shout, "osama", "osama" in soccer matches.
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/soccer/2004-02-10-mexico-usa_x.htm
The Star-Spangled Banner could barely be heard above all the jeers from the vociferous crowd of 60,000 at Estadio Jalisco. Nor will the national anthem be heard during the Athens Olympics this August for the U.S. under-23 men's soccer team.
Because the rivalry is so bitter and because of fan unruliness in past games, city officials doubled the number of police at the game to prevent violence. Eight members of the police force dressed in riot gear guarded the USA behind the team bench when the players entered the field. Obscene signs and chants filled the stadium and, in the 25th minute, the first taunting chants of "Osama! Osama!" in reference to al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden began.

When have our government officials complained about flag burning, like this Mexican official has?
We are private citizens expressing an opinion.

"We consider any provocation or vandalism of national symbols to be unacceptable," But you sure as heck can stick your nose into our affairs with no regard for our sovereignty, can you? Such as having your consulates involved in organizing pro-illegal rallies?

It makes me sick that the government of Mexico thinks they can tell American citizens what to do in our own country. Why shouldn't the Mexican government feel empowered to tell American citizens what to do, after all, they're telling our political leaders what to do and they're responding quite well to Mexico's instructions.

"We consider any provocation or vandalism of national symbols to be unacceptable," Foreign Relations Undersecretary Lourdes Aranda said in a news conference.
I consider it a provocation that a sovereign nation's border is being overrun by millions upon millions of illegal aliens in an outright invasion unparalleled in human history complete with the complicit approval and support of YOUR corrupt and inept government, Mr. Aranda.

This isn't about who is complaining.
Do you have a right to burn Mexico's flag? Sure you do. Is it the right thing to do?
No.

Since when did the Mexican government get the right to decide what is acceptable or unacceptable IN THE US! For at least as long as Bush has been in office.

Personally I would never do it, but the Mexican official is making a mountain out of a molehill.

Seems to me I remember a soccer game in Mexico where they boo'd the US and chanted "Osama".
