Politicians were at these demonstrations, of course. Most of them were Democrats, of course. Hillary Clinton said: "Your faces are the faces of America. Now isn't that special! Hillary Clinton believes that people who violate our laws and invade our country are the face of America. What kind of America is she talking about? Maybe one day we'll find out. Ted Kennedy was there too, acting the fool: "Do you love America?" he said. Then he stood there waving his clenched hands in a victory gesture. What are these illegal aliens going to say? No? Not one of these politicians at the demonstrations had anything to say about the American people. Citizens born here and those who came legally to become citizens were the forgotten people yesterday.

On the news I saw interviews with several marchers who said they wanted to see an America without borders.
In my mind that is another reason they should not be citizens. Eagerly wanting to surrender America's sovereignty is not the sign of a good citizen.

Here in DC we had Dem politicians like Kennedy and Moran capitalizing on it and the crowd chanted "Today we march, tomorrow we vote." A number of the speakers promised that politicians who opposed what they wanted would be targetted. It was a thinly veiled threat. I have no doubt that the Dem political machine, which has perfected voter fraud, will be happy to add these "undocumented workers" to the voter rolls. The Dems see Hispanics as their lock on political power in the future. One in every three Dem voters now is either black or Hispanic. Since Hispanics are the country's largest and fastest growing minority, the Dems want them to identify with their party. It seems to be working. Every time a Rep name was mentioned, the booing started. This was a Dem crowd.

It is estimated Hispanics may constitute up to 25 percent of the U.S. population by 2050. These changes are driven not just by immigration but also by fertility. In 2002, fertility rates in the United States were estimated at 1.8 for non-Hispanic whites, 2.1 for blacks, and 3.0 for Hispanics. “This is the characteristic shape of developing countries,” The Economist commented in 2002. “As the bulge of Latinos enters peak child-bearing age in a decade or two, the Latino share of America's population will soar.”
It also helps to have the Catholic Church supporting the illegals. It legitimizes them and places them in a victim status. Cardinal McCarrick spoke at the rally, mostly in Spanish.
I strongly support securing our borders and enforcing our laws, but the Dems have framed the issue successfully, i.e., pro-immigrant versus anti-immigrant with the GOP being the anti-immigrant party. It remains to be seen how this translates into political power, but the GOP should not pander to the illegals regardless. The Dems will get all the "credit" anyway.
I can't remember who the guy was on Fox and Friends yesterday, but one of his major demands was "respect" for [illegal] immigrants. Respect? Oh yeah, we always give respect to people who break the law! These people are seriously brain damaged.

I wonder if America has lost it's will. Everyone is out for themselves, regardless of the impact to anyone else. The politicians want power so badly that they're willing to destroy the country to do it.
Mr. Bush and his cohorts support this effort because it will provide cheap labor, and they think THEY can win the Hispanic vote.
The average American is too self absorbed to care, or threaten the out of control politicians.
We are getting what we, (collectively), deserve. America will be brought down from within, and we get the uncomfortable privilege of watching it happen.
Come down on any company hiring illegals aliens immdiately and dry up the draw.
Begin rounding up, arresting and incarcerating for a short period in work camps near the border, any illegals we can find, then expel them. If we seriously did these two things, we wouldn't need to worry about catching them all, most would leave.
After executing the above program for 90 days, offer any remaining illegals the following:
1) If you voluntarily report at a border station or any INS office, you will be immediately deported, but, after we take a DNA sample, if you pass a background check while we do so, we will consider your immigration requst favorably if you get in line with everyone else and apply through the standard methods.There's both the positive and the negative the incentive.
2) If you fail to report voluntarily and we have to catch you, or if you enter illegally again, then we will use your DNA to enusre that you are NEVER considered for immigration to the United States, then you will be incarcerated for 90 days abd expelled. If you are ever caught again, you will spend 20 years incarcerated, on work gangs before being expelled.
If they all go down south and build the fence for us we can let them apply to get back in when the project is over.

How much more respect do these illegals want?
We don't ask them if they are legal or illegal. That isn't nice.
We don't ask them to speak English. They pretend to understand or not understand, at their will. And we say nothing. That wouldn't be nice.
Their children get an education without paying for it. We American tax-payers pay for them. But we can't tell their children, because that wouldn't be nice.
When they get sick or hurt, they get free health care, simply because we have compassion for the ill. But we can't tell them so because we are trying to be nice.
What the heck. We're showing them more respect than we show to American citizens.
It is waaaaaaay out of balance.
Respect SHOULD BE earned.
