It's not a race specific effect, more class specific.
They sure got involved when it came to getting 'katrina' money.

My bad, I thought it was about blacks and latinos. Both of whom take it to the streets when they don't get what they want. I see a clash coming between these 2 classes of black and brown.
I don't know...the jobs were there before the mexicans came and they don't make bad money.
He was caught driving without insurance papers but his parents had insurance he just did not have the card with him. No jail or anything like that.
Anyway, other than that he has had no problems at all with the law.
He went to tech school after high school, to become a brick mason and also took courses in carpentry. By the way, he made a big brick barbecue for us right after he finished school... nice work!!
He went to work right away, but was soon laid off one job because the contract ended because the contractor who hired him passed away. Another company was hired and they had enough masons.
So, my friend's son went looking for another. He is NOT a union guy, by the way.
The second job required him to get a recommendations from 3 people saying that he was a good worker,etc. Also, they wanted detailed info about his prior "insurance " problem. And, then drug testing, of course.
So, he gave them all the info... and he got hired. On his first day on the job, he finds that MOST of the other workers are "IMMIGRANTS" who cannot speak English AT ALL and come to work in a big van from a labor pool place. They apparently do not have vehicles of their own and live together someplace. No driving licenses in Florida for illegals you know.
Now, this young man wants to know.... WHERE DID THOSE GUYS GET THEIR 3 RECOMMENDATIONS AND WAS ANYBODY ABLE TO CHECK THEIR ARREST/CRIMINAL RECORDS FROM MEXICO OR HONDURAS OR GUATAMALA???? What about the drug testing?? Did they have do the test as he did?
I would like to know as well.
You know, this young black man has training and his parents taught him to be a good person. How safe is he on a job when the other workers could be violent thugs or criminals from another land???
The fight is not about white, blacks, latinos only but about LAW ABIDING AMERICAN CITIZENS and illegal immigrants whom have a sense of entitlement to citizenship..
Now something will get done, it's one big turf war fixin to happen. jmho

Blacks have a long history of hating competing minorities, the Chinese, the Japanese, the Koreans, the Vietnamese, Hispanics and so on. Ironically, all these minorities that the Blacks hate seem to have improved their lot a lot. Blacks, well....
