Some business leaders have boldly taken the lead in promoting the cause of pro-life license plates. After Choose Life license plates were approved in Florida in August 2000, businessman Dennis Brown decided to place a Choose Life plate on each of the 55 vehicles owned by his company, AAA Electrical Contractors, Inc.
Brown said, I am the type of guy who sends out Christmas cards, not Season's Greetings.
Brown says the plates have not cost him businessinstead, they've increased it: I decided if I lost business over the plate, it was probably business I didn't need, but my business has actually grown and I give God all the credit.
Plumbing company president Bob Billa made a similar commitment to the Choose Life license plate, placing it on his plumbing trucks.
Billa says he has a very personal reason for being pro-life. At birth, his son Matt was dropped on the floor, resulting in massive neurological damage.
As Billas wife, Joley, has said, No one has the right to deny another human being life, no matter how challenging You may be tempted to think wow, that kid was lucky to have those parents. But I assure you that every human being ever conceived is special and priceless.
The Billas, Brown, and other business people are urging their colleagues to take the dare and demonstrate their commitment to life by placing a Choose Life license plate on their complete fleet of business vehicles.
Choose Life, Inc. will pay $20 of the first year's cost of switching and will get the plate for you by mail.
Choose Life, Inc. is the brainchild of Marion County Commissioner Randy Harris. Back in 1996, he was driving behind a vehicle with a specialty license plate when he envisioned a specialty plate with the Choose Life tag line. The Florida Choose Life license plate went on sale in August of 2000.
According to Harris, such license plates are now on the road not only in Florida, but in Louisiana, Oklahoma, Hawaii, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Maryland, South Dakota, and Montana and are under consideration in 32 other states.

Nice.
They are BOLDLY going where no man one has gone before.
Good for them.
Is there a freeper pool as to how long it will be before the ACLU steps in to squash this movement?
Good for these fellows! Excellent idea. They'd certainly get my business.
When someone has reached this level of success, it takes even more courage to take an action like this.
Hell's henchmen have been after pro-lifers for years: ACLU - Free Speech for all but pro-lifers.
Now if I could get my boss to put "Choose profit" on our company cars. :-)
Hell's henchmen....great name.
I like this and I'm not surprised business would increase. I do believe however that the whole decorative license plate issue should be privatized. Set some general rules forbiding profanity, lewdness, and require that the plates meet legibility requirements and let any shop customize plates.
God bless these businessmen and continue to bless their businesses!
People who live buy things,so the more people who live the bigger your market.
Abortion has killed more Americans than all the wars in our history.
The other side should be allowed to get their own license plate, too.
Since this one says "choose life," a message offensive to pro-abortionists, let me suggest that theirs contains the message "choose death."
How about "Infanticide, it's YOUR choice"?
Especially commendable seeing as how medical students are forced to learn to perform abortions and pharmacies are forced by the state to sell controversial pills.
EXACTLY!
