Any bets on how long it takes for this to devolve from protests/demands to shooting and killing?

On which side? The illegals, or from FR (which has happened already).

Either. Both. Neither one is going to be a good thing in my point of view...hopefully something is done by our government to deal with the invaders before a group of Americans feels they have no other choice but to "do the job our government won't do."
