The only reason people were protesting was the Democrats were fear-mongering and loading up legislation with poison pills that made immigrants scared of being jailed and/or deported. Certainly there are a few Mexican kooks who are pushing more radical agendas, but that is not the majority. The majority are just hard working people who want to earn a living and don't want to be imprision for trying to do that.
I recommend a movie called the "Godfather Part II". There is a scene where Al Pacino tells a group of mafia business men what he saw on the streets in Havana that indicate the Communist will win the war and the casinos being offered to them for sale are not safe. He saw a revolutionary blow up two policemen at a checkpoint. Pacino pointed out that the attacker was not paid like the police, yet had the dedication to die. Same logic and wisdom can be applied. The images from the TV and from many of my contacts in the cities where the demonstrations (100,000 to 500,000) were held had the following- brown power slogans, flags of Mexico and Latin America, leftist revolutionary slogans and portraits, sentiment that they will take back their land from the Americans, anger at the gringos, no repudiation by major American latino politicians, celebrities, and etc. Local latino officials who are suppose to represent all Americans taking sides, providing government resources (which is illegal) to help demonstrations, shouting down of non Latinos students in schools, shouting down workers in places of work and local government offices of latino dominated communities if they do not agree with immigration amnest. Sir, how many red flags do you need to have any reservations on your viewpoint. People are judged by how they act as individuals (usually positive experience) and how they act when they come together as a group (could be bad or good0. Both must be evaluated before a balanced viewpoint is formed. As individuals I will agree with your perceptions, but as a political group, I think you need to rethink your position, because they are so many red flags popping up in front of your face.
