Minister resigns following arrest

WICHITA FALLS (AP) - A church music minister has resigned after being charged with exposing himself to another man at a rest stop.

Ricky Steven Gates, 36, was arrested on a charge of indecent exposure, a misdemeanor, following an incident last week in Montague County, authorities said.

The pastor at First Baptist Church of Bowie accepted Gates' resignation Monday after addressing the allegations in church Sunday.

Andra Gates, the former music minister's wife, said she and her husband declined to comment.

Montague County sheriff's deputies said a man posting fliers at a rest stop near Sunset on March 30 reported that another man had exposed himself to him. The deputies found Gates, arrested him and impounded his vehicle, according to the department.

Gates, who had been the church's music minister since October, is free on $1,000 bond, officials said.

If convicted, Gates faces a maximum $2,000 fine, 180 days in jail and two years' probation.

Bowie is a city of about 5,500 residents some 50 miles southwest of Wichita Falls.

Again, if the Pope would just allow Baptist ministers to marry we wouldn't have this problem with homosexual clergymen exposing themselves on city streets.

This is news? Are we now posting every criminal act of indecent exposure. Sure would be a long list. OR is it just another round of Christian bashing? Either way, there are more headline worthy articles.

What was that "Ricky" pop song from the 80's? "You take me by the heart when you take me by the hand," and all that. Someone should post the lyrics here.

I'm glad you said that. I'm trying to figure out what this has to do with FR. This is news?

Nope. Bowie and Sunset are both in Montague County. Ain't much else there, though, in case you've never visited.

I would suggest to Mrs. Gates that she have herself tested for AIDS. If her husband is going around showing his pathetic penis at rest stops it would be a small thing to assume he has had homosexual contact and is quite possibly infected with the AIDS virus.

My advice to her is pack his crap up and put it way out in the front yard where he can get it without coming near you.
On second thought , dont bother to pack it , just throw it out there.

Its actually Mickey, Wierd Al did a parody of it called Ricky. Here is the original.

Hey Mickey
You've been around all night and that's a little long
You think you've got the right but I think you've got it wrong
Why can't we say goodnight? So you can take me home Mickey

'Cause when you say you will, it always means you won't
You're givin' me the chills, baby, please baby
Don't every night you still leave me alone Mickey

(CHORUS)
Oh Mickey, what a pity, you don't understand
You take me by the heart when you take me by the hand
Oh Mickey, you're so pretty, can't you understand
It's guys like you, Mickey
Ooh what you do Mickey, do Mickey
Don't break my heart, Mickey

Hey Mickey
Now when you take me by the who's ever gonna know
And every time you move you let a little more show
There's something you can lose, so don't say no Mickey

So come on and give it to me anyway you can
Anyway you want to do it, I'll take it like a man
But please baby, please don't leave me in this jam Mickey

(CHORUS)

Oh Mickey, you're so fine
You're so fine, you blow my mind, hey Mickey, hey Mickey
Oh Mickey, you're so fine
You're so fine, you blow my mind, hey Mickey, hey Mickey
Oh Mickey, you're so fine
You're so fine, you blow my mind, hey Mickey, hey Mickey
Oh Mickey, you're so fine
You're so fine, you blow my mind, hey Mickey, hey Mickey

(REPEAT CHORUS TO FADE

Baptist ministered get arrested and sent to jail. Catholic priests get transfered to prey on a new flock. There is a lesson here.

Are you honestly claiming that priests who do this stuff are never arrested? Do you really believe that?

This also could be something as simple as taking a leak by a tree.

Somebody who reads this could learn a valuable lesson of how reckless behavior can ruin a person's reputation, health, family, etc. That's why I posted it.
