Kennedy-McCain Bill Resurrected! April 6 11:30 pm

Dear Friend, I just came from our weekly immigration coalition dinner, and I can’t wait until the morning to tell you what the great Senate of the United States has in mind for us. And as always I need you to get back on the phones and call as soon as you get this e-mail. We can’t let this bill pass!

Tomorrow morning, 10:30 am, the Senate is scheduled to vote to allow the Hagel Martinez bill to go to the floor for a vote. If Senators Frist and Reid can garner 60 votes, the bill goes to the floor and will pass the Senate tomorrow. Here is what I have learned about the bill.

Just about everything we are being told about this so-called “compromise bill” is a lie. It is no compromise. It is a complete sell-out of America, same as its twin Kennedy-McCain.

The treasonous facts:

There is no border security! The seven hundred miles of fence, that is part of the House bill, is not in this bill. Instead the bill calls for a virtual fence. (That’s what got us into this mess in the first place.)

There is NO mandatory employer verification! It was stripped out—too burdensome for businesses. The Senate sure knows how to keep their corporate masters happy!

It is all about Amnesty! It calls for amnesty for over 10 million illegals, and that is before the fraud begins! In 1986 it was estimated that 1-1.5 million illegals were eligible for that amnesty—over 3 million applied and were approved. We are looking at amnesty for fifteen, possibly twenty million illegals. And with no border security every one of them will be quickly replaced by another illegal!

It is about more amnesty—through guest worker! In spite of the fact that no guest worker program has ever worked in this country and has always become amnesty, the bill calls for 400,000 new guest workers every year and they will be put on a path to citizenship. This guarantees the chamber has its constant flow of cheap labor.

It is about doubling legal immigration from 1million a year to two million a year.

If that wasn’t enough, the bill does give in state tuition to all illegals! How dumb are these Senators? How many millions will come here illegally just to have their kids educated at our expense! And with no border control what is going to stop them!

It is about more illegal immigration. With all these benefits for illegals living here today, and no border security or employer accountability this bill invites a massive new wave of illegal immigration.

In short, the Senate has chosen to ignore the problem of illegal immigration, and the outcry of most all Americans to secure the border and enforce the laws.

I beg you—say a prayer tonight and tomorrow bright and early get on the phones again! Express you outrage and if you can’t get through to the Senators, call your Congressman—they can stop this bill from becoming law!

Thank you so much for all your help and support. Bay Buchanan

PS A staffer of one of the good guys in Congress told me tonight that the calls coming in to the Congressional offices have now surpassed those generated by the Dubai port debacle. The callers are furious, he said, they can’t get through to their Senators’ offices, the lines are always busy, and the message machines are overloaded so they can’t even leave a message. You are making a difference—please don’t give up now.

The RINOs are trying pull a fast one on the American people. They must think we don't read the fine print. Well, Hagel-Martinez sucks. What part of the word N-O-A-M-N-E-S-T-Y do our Senators not understand? This is amnesty plus zero enforcement!

It looks like our side of the aisle got smart for once and actually read the proposed legislation and found a few surprises:

Like that surprise hidden on page 302 - which would replace the country's entire bench of experienced immigration judges with pro-immigration advocates.

With a few exceptions, today's immigration judges (who serve for life) are dedicated to enforcing the law, and they do a difficult job well. This bill forces all immigration judges to step down after serving seven years - and restricts replacements to attorneys with at least five years' experience practicing immigration law.

Virtually the only lawyers who'll meet that requirement are attorneys who represent aliens in the immigration courts - who tend to be some of the nation's most liberal lawyers, and who are certainly unlikely as a class to be fond of enforcing immigration laws.

Just before the committee approved the bill on the evening of March 27, Sen. Richard Durbin (D-Ill.) offered the "DREAM Act" as an amendment. It passed on a voice vote.

The DREAM Act is a nightmare. It repeals a 1996 law that prohibits state universities from offering in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens. The principle, of course, is that no illegal alien should be entitled to receive a taxpayer-subsidized benefit that out-of-state U.S. citizens can't get. But the committee's bill allows illegals to be treated better than those U.S. citizens on tuition.

So this is what the left wants. Free tuition for illegals. If that doesn't wake up the third party lovers on FR, nothing will.

Surprises? Another one is a provision that requires Homeland Security to process millions of illegal alien amnesty applications without the personnel or resources to deter fraud, abuse and gaming the system. This is an immigraation bill only Osama Bin Laden could love. He too, would qualify for U.S citizenshup if he remained here for five years, no questions asked. And we still haven't secured our borders!

Everybody needs to wake the hell up and get on the phones!

They're trying to sneak an amnesty nightmare - something even worse than McKennedy's bill - through the Senate. Any Republican that supports this atrocity needs to be defeated in the next election. Period.

Last night on CSpan2 I saw Sen Sessions speaking from the floor of the senate. He was detailing "loopholes" in the proposed "compromise" that necessitated a NO vote. Anyone have a list of the loopholes?

This bill is amnesty, pure and simple, and that will encourage more illegals to come here. (But as long as they vote for Kennedy and McCain, then it's OK, right?)

Amnesty means open borders. Open borders mean losing the war on terror. Anyone who is for open borders is for losing teh war on terror.

I remember how not that long ago...all these traitors told folks to their faces that they would NOT vote for A. Spector in the chair of the JC....

And they went right on ahead and voted for him anyway....

Their 'word' on anything is useless...may as well take the word of a habitual liar...and drunk

The American government has been overthrown...and continues it's march into the arms of the NWO...

We have been betrayed...and sold into bondage....

Other than that..it's a pretty nice day out today..wonder if there is anything 'decent' (aka entertaining) on tv today..and man look at that stack of credit card bills...

Honey!..come back to bed will you..for gosh sakes honey its 3AM...would you please put down the night vision binoculars and get off the cell phone to the border patrol...yeah I know there are thousands of them in the back yard and climbing in the garage window of the neighbors...you worry too much George Bush has this covered as do our leaders..let's get some sleep big day tomorrow..

imo
May our children and our children's children not curse us for what we have done to our nation and refused to fight for here at home while we send our kids off to die thousands of miles away for the freedom of strangers and refuse to protect our own right here at home...

May our troops not curse us when they get home after they've seen how lazily we slept through events while they risked their lives abroad for others...while they fought we sold their homeland out behind their backs.

Arbusto Akbar!!!

imo

Not only is it amnesty. It is also a pack of rewards for the criminal invaders as it forces states to offer in-state tuition to the illegal aliens.

No Amnesty!! No Rewards!!

The Victory Fund financial cofounded by David Mixner.

http://www.victoryfund.org/clientuploads/documents/Victory_2003_E-Resolution.pdf

Page 25 specifically says The Gay & Lesbian Fund provides financial support to openly lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender candidates and officials.

The IRV Victory Fund
The Vision
As recent events have shown, instant runoff voting (IRV) is gaining traction nationwide. On the heels of San Francisco's city-wide IRV elections, hailed universally as well-understood by the electorate (and much preferred to the old system), other cities have begun to follow the trend. In March, Burlington, Vt. became the first major city in more than 30 years to use IRV for a mayoral election, and the positive results bode well for the possibility of this good-government reform to spread statewide.

As passionate electoral reformers who believe in the people's power to protect our country's democratic health, the challenge is presenting these victories as part of what they truly are -- a nationwide movement. In that spirit, FairVote is launching the IRV Victory Fund, which aims to unify local efforts by aiding those campaigns where the promise of success is greatest.

Fueling a National Movement.
The Victory Fund pledges at least 50 cents for every dollar it collects to be directed to the local campaign where it will count the most. Though the eventual goal of IRV should be to ensure the principle of majority rule is honored everywhere, and used for all executive offices, right now the reformer's strategy must focus on city and state campaigns. Of course, FairVote will continue to produce educational and campaign materials for national use.

The Fund will operate with complete transparency in periodic reports as to how these campaign-focused donations are spent. That's just another prerequisite for establishing an IRV campaign in which all its participants can feel involved.

A Vehicle for Endorsements
From Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama, to DNC Chairman Howard Dean, big names are lining up behind instant runoff voting as it gains momentum. The Victory Fund serves as a focus point for prominent figures, and provides a basis to campaign for endorsements from other supporters of fair elections. Seeking these endorsements will be central to the Victory Fund's operation.

Well Ted Kennedy said he heard those "Americans" on the streets of LA dontcha know. What's real shameful is there are supposed Republicans going along with him.

Kennedy was the driving force behind this. Of course, his buddy Jorge McCain helped.

This is what happens when you have Spector as the head of the judiciary.

We must call Congress and stop this.

Guess the cries of AMNESTY on these
proposals has made some Senators
less adamant about their votes!
Nothing to be decided until AFTER
the Senate's Spring Break...

IMO, since he announced on TV that
he saw the bills as amnesty, ALLEN
is the one who will benefit from
all this posturing by both Dems
and Reps.
