Menace in Europe
front page magazine ^ | 07 april 2006 | Jamie Glazov

Frontpage Interview’s guest today is Dr. Claire Berlinski , the author of the new book Menace in Europe: Why the Continent's Crisis Is America's, Too.

FP: Dr. Berlinski , welcome to Frontpage Interview.

Berlinski : It’s a pleasure. Please call me Claire.

FP: Okay Claire. So introduce us briefly to the menace in Europe.

Berlinksi: In brief: Europeans are lazy, unwilling to fight for anything and willing to surrender to anyone; they are fascinated by decadence; they favor the bureaucracy over the corporation; they are unable to assimilate their immigrants; they no longer have children; they no longer produce much of cultural or scientific significance; they have lost their religious vocation and they no longer hold their lives to be meaningful.

FP: Sounds like nihilism and suicide to me. And just to crystallize matters, why exactly do you use the word “menace”?

Berlinski: Because the circumstances I describe have rendered Europeans more or less completely blind and incapacitated when confronting threats to their own civilization.

FP: Tell us about the threats.

European mosques have for years been importing a particularly bellicose strain of Islam—these mosques are funded by foreign money, headed by foreign clerics. Saudi Arabia now provides 80 percent of the funding for the 1200 mosques and Islamic centers in France, for example. These mosques teach the rejection of assimilation, the complete subjugation of women, grotesque anti-Semitism, jihad.

We have the same problem here. Congress needs to pass a law prohibiting the foreign funding of religious organizations in the US by countries that do not respect freedom of religion at home.

Not so different from half of America. Athiest materialsim leads to corruption, corruption begets anger, anger starts wars.
We have not because we no longer ask the one living creator God and His son Christ Jesus. And Europe was once a bible believing nation that turned away from God's Christ and look what is happening to them. Do they think that the scripture says in vain;
James 4
1From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
2Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

I'm reading this book now. Very good, so far, and unusually perceptive. The author lives in Europe and sees a society that most tourists don't.

lol - she's making a living provoking people with half rare estimations while they are not in the room ?

What is she - an inverted Michael Moore on europe tour ?

What's she doing in the US talking this talk - shes like a barking dog behind a big fence.

I like to have her over here in germany to talk on a unions meeting, then we might say she's really cutting some mustard.

I live in Europe. The vast majority is in utter denial, they don't want to criticize Islam because they don't want to be seen as intolerant/racist/bigot etc... The level of denial is absolutely staggering and totally amazing.

Europe is suffering from a post WW II 'we must accept anything any foreign minority wants even if its against us ourselves' mentality.

The only cure I see is a decade of Islamic dictatorship. I'm not staying for that, I've applied for a green card, I hope I get it.

and I should add, the muslim leadership KNOWS that Europe is sensitive to accusations of racism/bigotry etc... They play the role of the 'victimized' to perfection.

The truth indeed. When Iraq was defeated by the U.S. military, our President in his foolishness once again reached across the aisle and allowed the liberals to determine Iraq's future when he made a deal to allow Iraq to make their own Constitution, disaster indeed. He should have studied the Marshall plan and did what was done before in Japan and South Korea; implement military rule until a Constitutional bill of rights that allows and guarantees our 1st amendment rights to other people also.
No 1st Amendment right to guarantee the freedom of religion, no peace. It would have been only 10 years near as I can tell.

I would hesitate to lump all of Europe into one pigeonhole. France, of course, is toast. Denmark gets it and the Netherlands is waking up. Germany and England are thinking about screening out the worst elements. Maybe if the 147th French Revolution is bloody enough, the rest will decide "not here".

Yea, our politicians no longer represent those conservatives that elect them. The Pubs moved left as the dems became communists.

Wow she is talking about me and as got me down to a T (Fkin NOT).

LOL Americans seem to have a fetish for writing books about how Europe is going down the pan to sell to other Americans and so reinforce there sense of superiority.

Europe is not one country it is a host of different countries with there own separate identity and believes.

And there are a number of European countries who have troops serving in Afghanistan, Iraq and a host of other countries all helping to fight in the War Against Terror.

I'd say the vast majority in Europe is in denial. Though I would say that in eastern Europe it is somewhat less as they still recall the Soviet occupation. But in western Europe the levels of denial are amazing, especially in France and Germany. And here in Netherlands too.

I'll give you an example about the levels of denial in the Netherlands. Just a few weeks ago, there was a discussion about extremism on the internet. Wanna know what the two largest political parties are worried about? Socalled 'rightwing extremism/fascism'. Islamic extremisn wasn't even mentioned or considered, much to my dismay and that of a handful of politicians.

I actually know some people (former and current colleagues) who have publicly and explicitly stated to me that they think we should tolerate anything the muslims want because that's what we as Dutch should to, tolerate. The muslims of course, cannot do anything wrong.

As I remember the Dutch were not very enthusiastic members of NATO and were always considered the weak link in NORTHAG. Your Marines were good though we used to train with them and have and have personal exchanges
