AP) WEST HAVEN, Conn. A motorist opened fire on a group of Hell's Angels motorcyclists along Interstate 95 on Sunday, killing one and injuring another, police said.
The bikers were traveling near West Haven around 3:30 p.m. when they were shot, said State Police spokesman Sgt. J. Paul Vance.
Police were considering a number of possible motives including road rage, and were searching for a sport utility vehicle with Florida license plates, Vance said.
Roger Mariani, 61, of Stratford, pulled over before realizing he had been shot in the upper torso, Vance said. He later died at the Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Paul Carrol, 37, of Bridgeport, who was grazed by a bullet, was treated at the hospital and released, Vance said.

Roger Mariani, 61, of Stratford, pulled over before realizing he had been shot in the upper torso, Vance said. He later died at the Yale-New Haven Hospital. Is this common? I know people can go into shock and not realize they have been shot, but it seems he would be aware of a wound which was to be fatal in only a few hours.

The cops are going to be the least of the shooter's worries, certainly.

As I recall, Reagan was not aware of his gunshot wound until he spit up blood. That's when the limo turned around and headed to GW instead of the WH.

Hells Angels can be strange birds.....
I was on my bike going North on 395 just South of Lone Pine California on the Eastern side of the Sierras.
A was biker pulled over to the side of the road working on his bike.... I stopped, asked if he needed anything -- and he said the only thing he needed was some tygon fuel line... I carried some in my saddle bags and surprised him with it as I pulled it out...
He cut off a short piece to replace his split fuel line, thanked me --- pulled his jacket off the rear rack and put it on to leave... It was then I saw he was a Hells Angel... I said goodbye and started to leave -- wanting to get distance between us - quickly..
He insisted we ride together as far as a bar just a few miles North so he could buy me a beer... I agreed.
We got to a bar that was FULL of his "friends" that had left him behind... I had one of the best afternoons of my life....I drank and ate all that day, without spending a dime... Ended up too drunk to proceed, took my sleeping bag and poncho off the bike and crashed in the woods behind the bar...

I was shot in the upper thigh once, no real pain, just felt a thump, the pain came big time a couple hours later.

Police were considering a number of possible motives including road rage, and were searching for a sport utility vehicle with Florida license plates Joe will of course have an airtight alibi.

It is not uncommon for people who have suffered a trauma they did not anticipate to initially feel no pain.
Think of getting a shot (injection) when you were a kid. If you saw it coming, it hurt, at least until you learned to relax.
