The nation's most prominent opponent of current immigration policy began his day yesterday on the "Today" show on NBC, debating a Hispanic defender of illegal immigrants. He moved on to "American Morning" on CNN to denounce a bill passed by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday as "an amnesty program."

This followed by just a day a confrontation between Mr. Dobbs and a guest on his own program, Janet Murguia, the president of the Hispanic civil rights group National Council of La Raza, during which he lectured her on immigration policy.

"I want you to look me right in the eye, and I want you to hear me loud and clear," Mr. Dobbs said to Ms. Murguia, who replied, "I'm right here."

"The public demand to protect our borders will triumph sooner or later. And, the more brazen the opposing politicians, the sooner will come the triumph. So legislate on, you proud and foolish senators, and hasten your political demise.

I assume this article it talking about Lou Dobbs. Frankly, I don't know what all Lou's politics are, but he is dead right on two issues: illegal immigration and the "exporting of America". And he uses his CNN show as a soap box to preach on both. He is a tireless advocate for protecting America's borders and its workers (even Fox News is lukewarm on these)--and I salute him for it. The only surprising thing is that CNN hasn't canned him yet--I bet there is lots of chafing among the left-leaning news staff whenever Lou opens his mouth. I'm sure they ARE itching to fire him, but I'll wager the ratings from his show are the only think keeping CNN afloat.

And if they do can him, I am sure FNC will find a slot for him.

Only show I watch on CNN , and Lou is one of the best on this issue..globalism and illegals, for many who do not know they are the SAME ISSUE. Globalists do not want national borders it stops free trade don't cha know.

I personally watch Lou at least 4 out of 5 days a week and sometimes all 5. He is spot on each and every show on the illegal immigration issue and the need in securing our nations borders and protecting its sovereignty. Keep up the excellent work and show Lou, you have my support, respect and my attention. Too bad the other cable news shows don't have someone who can say they are even in the same ballpark as Lou Dobbs but they can't.

I assume CNN likes him because the two issues he harps on are outside the mainstream GOP. He's sort of paleo. And the left likes to use paleos (PJB) as useful idiots.

I also watch Lou ... I love FOX and with Brit and the All Stars "opposite" him (in my area), I find myself switching away from Fox over to Lou (notice I'm not switching from Fox to CNN, "Fox over to Lou." Questions:

1. Why doesn't CNN "get it" ... if they see the ratings totally soar with what Lou is doing, why don't they try to repeat the success?
2. We watch him because of selling America and Immigration. His ratings are soaring because of these points ... why can't the pols see what is happening. There's the issue for the campaign ... why EVER legislate or even talk against either ... the people making those ratings happen are also voters ... it is a clear poll of the country's attitude.

If he is right on the issue that many GOP senators are wrong on I support him..too bad the policy is not whats important to you rather than the R behind a name.

Check out this thread about something on the White House website. It reads like something from the Trilateral Commission.

No, I'm not a nutcase, it is from the White House website, and it surprised me too.

But in light of it the Senate committee vote on the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill makes more sense...

NO cheers, unfortunately.

Get the bug out of yer @ss; I was commenting on this remark by another poster:

I wasn't commenting on policy OR his political party affiliation. I was commenting on the fact that the left sees paleo issues as wedge issues; that's why they like having a few paleos around. I believe that's why Dobbs has a show. It's not ratings. He pulls like a .5 or something. See? I'm talking TV. Don't like it? Then butt the f$%^ out. Smell ya later.

Can someone explain to me why Lou Dobbs looks so much like Pat Buchanan? Is he Pat's illegitimate child?

So, those of us who agree with Lou are...paleos (neanderthals)? Personnally, I think the crowd that think we need to relentlessly outsource while importing legions of illegals has their head up their a$$. If that makes me a "paleo" so be it.

Lou Dobbs BUMP.

One of the very few in the TV media who will tell the truth on immigration: it's destroying America.
