Saudi Arabia secretly getting nuclear weapons from Pakistan (claims German magazine)

Berlin: Saudi Arabia is working secretly on a nuclear programme, with help from Pakistani experts, the German magazine Cicero reports in its latest edition, citing western security sources.

It says that during the Haj pilgrimages to Mecca in 2003 through 2005, Pakistani scientists posed as pilgrims to come to Saudi Arabia in aircraft laid on by the oil-rich kingdom.

Between October 2004 and January 2005, some of them took the opportunity to "disappear" from their hotel rooms, sometimes for up to three weeks, it quoted German security expert Udo Ulfkotte as saying.

According to western security services, the magazine added, Saudi scientists have been working since the mid-1990s in Pakistan, a nuclear power since 1998 thanks to the work of the now-disgraced Pakistani scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan.

If Iran goes nuke, Saudi has little choice but to follow.

The time to stop Iran, and all the rest, is now.

That religion is spectacularly unsuited for possession of modern weaponry.

Amr Moussa, head of the Arab League, called on the Arab world today to get their nuclear programs going “with all speed and momentum.”

I'm seeing a near-term future of hoarding and fallout-shelter rebuilding. Today, the same people who advocated a unilateral nuclear freeze when the Soviets were bulking up think everyone should have nuclear weapons.

Plusses and minuses in that equation.

Islam has significant and in the long term, fatal deficiencies in structure.

However, so did the Soviet Union. They never pushed the button, maybe 30 or 40 years living under 'MAD' is what Islam needs to grow up.

No fallout shelters necessary. The mushrooms will mostly grow 'over there', and if any do pop up here, they will be isolated acts in limited locations. The irrational marginalize themselves.

Mass cooperation is necessary for an arsenal large enough to challenge ours. Mass cooperation does not flourish in an irrational environment.

I'd prefer, however, to not lose even one city, here or there. I think we need to drop the hammer on Iran, now, today, activate zero nine at Whiteman, let the Spirits do what they do best, and live with the results in Iraq.

Binary solution set, my way, or we lose a city or two, we being 'mankind'. I've had my say, I live more than 250 miles downstream from any population center, that's all I can do.

Onward.
