NY Post: Hillary Clinton Has 'Troops'
NewsMax ^ | 28 March 2006

2008 Democratic presidential frontrunner Sen. Hillary Clinton already has a campaign staff that dwarfs the size of Sen. John McCain's staff, who's leading the pack for the GOP presidential nomination.

But while Clinton denies that she's thinking beyond her Senate reelection this fall, the New York Post reports that "her political machine is so massive that it's more than four times" as big as Team McCain.

On the other hand, the Arizona Republican relies on just five staffers and a half-dozen consulting firms spread between his campaign and his Straight Talk America PAC, the paper says.

Mrs. Clinton's 20 troops are deployed to fundraising operations such as HillPAC and Friends of Hillary. Also on the campaign payroll, her Senate chief of staff, Tamera Luzzatto.

The former first lady's bloated operation costs her nearly $100,000 per month in payroll alone.

She shells out even more to a phalanx of "seasoned consultants" who handle media strategy, speechwriting, market research, direct mail and fundraising. And although Clinton trails both McCain and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani in every national poll taken so far - and seems to be slipping in popularity with the liberal wing of her party - her one undisputed success has been fundraising.

The former first lady's campaign war chest has grown to $17 million - the biggest in the Senate.

Campaign spokeswoman Ann Lewis says that kind of cash flow means Mrs. Clinton's super-size operation is pulling its own weight.

"Considering the successful work that is being carried out by the FOH and HillPAC staff, including our extensive outreach to low-dollar donors, we think it's an appropriate number at this time," she told The Post.

I hope it costs her $1,000,000 per month and that it bankrupts her.

A Phalanx Eh....?

Hope they are well versed in fast ash tray hurling and HEAD BOBBING and can complete the various phalanx maneuvers without so much of a hint of EYE CONTACT.

AND IN OTHER NEWS....

BIGGEST LOSERS

For all the talk about Republican problems in the House and Senate races in 2006, it isn't as though Democrats are faring much better. According to internal Democrat polling in the House, the party expects to pick up no more than three seats in the House, allowing for several losses by members in up-for-grabs districts.

That's not enough to swing the balance of power in the House, and such a middling performance almost assuredly will doom the leadership career of House minority leader Nancy Pelosi, who is less popular among Democrats than President George W. Bush is among all Americans.

According to Hotline, a recent blogger's online poll of 14,000 liberal Democrats found 67 percent disapproved of her. In fact, according to the Hotline, only 19 percent believe her to be even "marginally competent." And these are her people!Link-scroll to bottom

Oh, I agree. I don't honestly think there's anyone left in the United States who doesn't expect her to lie her way out of her promises not to run.

Considering the malefactors of great wealth that are pouring seemingly limitless quantities of money into Herself's campaign, Herself shall never have any fear concerning bankruptcy.

And the sources are not confined to the US alone.

Both Iran and China may have a stake in the outcome.

And the worst part is, Herself does not have to actually WIN to create massive mischief for US foreign and domestic policy. Even a close loss gives Herself huge leverage when it comes to painting a confused and dispirited future Republican Administration, and leave government divided for years.

Herself is formidible.

But not yet invincible.

O.K. will someone please forward a copy of the memo to that witch Karen Tumulty at Slime magazine? Oh wait, she probably already had it and still wrote her odious "Republicans on the Run" piece anyway.
