I already know what it's like. I live in So. Mexifornia.

My sympathies are with you! I'm a refugee from there of 14 years. It absolutely tears me up to see what has happened to that beautiful state.

I have a feeling the Minutemen are going to be flooded with volunteers wanting to join them, also watch the gun sales rise after today

If my work schedule pans out like I think it might, I'll be there. I know I need an ammo refill, I'd be part of that statistic.

Be careful and be safe out there!

Notice, I didn't state Kyl is a conservative. LOL

Just, imo, a good guy. Unlike the Senator he shares that state with...

The Kyl/Cornyn bill isn't perfect, not by a long shot, but at least it gives some respect to enforcement. McCain/kennedy/Specter's do no such thing.

Illegal aliens breaking rules? Who'd have thought? LOL

And it's indeed curious they think we wouldn't be sympathetic to Fox's countrymen waving flags. What I want to know is how many in the streets were actually here legally. My guess? A few thousand at most.

Maybe it's just ME but I'd like to think our politicians would favor the opinions of those who can LEGALLY vote over illegal's sentiments, but, guess not. I guess no one has informed them that the Hispanic population, that which is LEGAL in this country, is split on this issue as well. So who are they catering to again? Illegals and half of the Hispanic population. Whereas the rest of the country, and half of the Hispanic population, is against them on this.

Opps - that is only Durbin's press release - some specifics, but still looking for the full amendment as passed.

Kyl was the only one there, at the end, that showed any effort or interest of getting it right. I'm sure he's pissed, as most of us are.

Like I mentioned, I was listening on the radio but whenever Kyl spoke I would stop to listen. I appreciated his tone and the merits of the points he made. The more I think about this though the angrier I get.

Durbin's amendment:
http://durbin.senate.gov/record.cfm?id=253158

Thanks for that. It's his earlier amendment, not the only one. I don't know if there is a public source for amendments offered in Committee, other than what each Senator decides to release on his or her own.

Not only do illegals get a free pass but they get instate tuition, free everything else too. Some states even reward them with driver's licenses, knowing they are illegal.

Senate Live at this moment. Frist is "closing shop." He may describe the plan for tommorow.

Meanwhile, he is talking about Elvis Presely.

YOU may not like Lou Dobbs, but I happen to think he is one great Patriot and loves this country.

I stopped listening to Dobbs when he became a hero to the loons over at the Daily Kos

Frist is saying the immigration bill is posposed till tomorrow afternoon?

Frist docketed his personal immigration bill and a cloture motion (cloture on taking up the bill, not on passing the bill) last week Thursday. The object was to get the Judiciary Committee to get a move on. The Judiciary Committee did.

With regard to immigration, the first issue is which bill should be taken up? Frist's, which has a promise of Reid to filibuster, and which the cloture motion is aimed at cuting of debate on whether or not to take it up; or the Committee version, which Reid (probably) does not object to.

With regard to Senate action, Frist may want to finish the lobbying bill, or if not, permit some amount of debate as to which immigration bill should be debated.

I think Frist is grandstanding - flexing his muscles - by not outright making a substitution of the Committee Bill for his, and getting on with the debate. OTOH, he may face objection from his own party on getting unanimous consent to take up the Committee version. Instead of a DEM filibuster, he's facing a GOP filibuster.

Frist seems to have a habit of going out on those limbs by himself...

Just like he did right before Christmas with the stem cell research speech.

My observations from today...a LOT of disorganization..and a Senate that is confused.

I agree on the disorganization

Disagree on the confused .. it's more like in a panic
