Generally, if I see something declared as scriven-in-the-very-stone in the NY Times, WaPo or the like, I take the exact opposite to be the truth. (I will charitably exclude the time and weather, if only because I can check the bastards against known reliable sources with little delay.)

If the Iranian nuke program makes a significant move towards an operational weapon, the news I would expect to hear would be reports of the tragic accident and resulting near-destruction of the facility involved. (NY Times would probably report it first as an earthquake, retract and finally get it "right" in a late edition.)
