Michelle Malkin and Cam Edwards had an idea. They wanted to show their support for Abdul Rahman, the Afghani man now on trial in Afghanistan for being a convert to Christianity who is facing a possible death sentence if convicted.
Kristinn, Cam and Michelle have been in contact with one another this morning, and we have a permit application filed with MPDC for this Friday. I have confirmed with MPDC that all is OK with our application. The event is officially a "GO."
From the earlier announcement on Michelle's blog, here are the particulars:

The nearest Metro station is probably a toss-up, between Dupont Circle (and a short walk uphill to Wyoming Ave location) and Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan ( and a more level but slightly longer walk).

CAIR CALLS FOR RELEASE OF AFGHAN CHRISTIAN Islamic civil rights group says conversion a personal, not state matter
(WASHINGTON, D.C., 3/22/2006) - A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today called on the government of Afghanistan to release Abdul Rahman, a man facing the death penalty for converting from Islam to Christianity.
The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) says the man's conversion is a personal matter not subject to the intervention of the state.

It is disgusting that the USA supports the evil governments as we do. USA should not be fighting and dying for muslim led governments like Afghanistan and Iraq. They are not worthy of USA bloodshed.
Agree, Im tried of these muslim countries, their just 6th century rat holes. They will never have democracy they dont know what it is living like their in the 6th century. Bomb them and leave.
