General Georges Sada, who served under the command of Saddam Hussein, appeared on The Daily Show last night to discuss his new book “Saddam’s Secrets“:
In his book and on The Daily Show, Sada says that Weapons of Mass Destruction existed, however they were moved to Syria prior to the American invasion in 2003. Stewart asks how he knows this; was it by documents or video, Sada responds: “I was the number two man in the air force”.
Full transcript below.
Last week I posted three audio clips of Sada interviewed on The Mike Rosen Show. He discussed the WMDs Saddam owned and Hussein’s planned attack against Israel.

JON STEWART, HOST: Then, is the battle between our two countries, was it drummed up between Saddam and his interests to dominate the Arab world and our interests to have stability? Was it inevitable? Is it something that came through misunderstandings of culture?
GENERAL GEORGES SADA: Well let me tell you, it was not misunderstanding between the cultures, but t was the Saddam intentions and Saddam wanted to rule that part of the world. He was always going to go for weapons and of course he had weapons of mass destruction that he had managed to hide and to mislead the United Nations countries.
STEWART: This is obviously the most controversial part of the book. In it you say that right before the invasion of Iraq Saddam had his weapons of mass destruction taken to Syria.
SADA: That’s true. He had them there before Americans came and liberated the country. The weapons were transported to Syria by air and by ground.
STEWART: That would seemingly get the Bush administration off the giant hook that it appears to be on. Why wouldn’t they pursue that line of evidence? Or have they? It seems like for us it would be hard to understand that that really happened. Given that the whole world was looking for those.
SADA: I am sure in the coming days the authorities are going to tell the public and tell all Americans after they will have all the evidence in their hands and they can verify everything to the Americans.
STEWART: You still feel, now this is first-hand knowledge of yours? Somebody told you this? You’ve seen it in documents? You’ve seen it on video.
SADA: Oh yes, the weapons of mass destruction I have seen them myself because you see I was the number two man in the air force. Then I know how they were used against our nation. Of course—
STEWART: But in the later ‘90s after they thought they had rid them of it, you still saw them.
SADA: After the ‘90s they were there. How I knew they were there, after they were transported the pilots who transported they told me.
STEWART: The guys that flew them …
SADA: The guys who were responsible.
STEWART: How do you fly a weapon? Isn’t that a large thing or do you put it….
SADA: No. They are raw materials; some of them are like barrels, yellow barrels, of course, with skulls and cross bones on them.
STEWART: You think if you’re going to hide that stuff you think you might paint something like you know, spam.
[laughter]
STEWART: In your mind this will all come out. We will learn that there are weapons of mass destruction. You can understand how it’s hard for us to be a little bit skeptical but I like you.

Now there is a great idea!

I'd have to agree... we've already been burned by the likes of "curveball" and Chalabi... these are people who want to sell a story that they perceive we'll buy. If there were a mass movement of WMDs to Syria, our satellites would have picked up something...
No kidding, that's what I thought.. a comedy show? Is this guy at all real?
The DVD is a collection of pro-troops videos, commercials, etc. along with brief news reports of what is really going on in Iraq. It also includes videos shot by the Fedayeen Saddam of them torturing and killing political prisoners and such in Iraq before we liberated the country. I'm always looking for more videos to include on the DVD.
I've used it with my portable DVD player and bullhorn to confront seditious groups like Code Pink with the truth. It drives them wild. You get one of those morons in the Abu Ghraib shroud or Gitmo orange whining about torture and you show them actual video of what real torture is.
My idea is to release this as a downloadable .iso in DVD, VCD, and SVCD format as well as a list of links for people to build their own. Then people can burn these videos to various media for use in presentations, debates, protests, demonstrations, etc.
I'm always looking for videos in .wmv and .mpeg formats to put on the DVD. I'm also looking for a space on the Internet that can host the huge .iso files that I want to put there for downloading.
The weapons went to Syria. If not verification, there is at least a preponderance of evidence:
"Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. James Clapper, head of the National Imagery and Mapping Agency, said vehicle traffic photographed by U.S. spy satellites indicated that material and documents related to the arms programs were shipped to Syria."

"Last month Moshe Yaalon, who was Israel's top general at the time, said Iraq transported WMD to Syria six weeks before Operation Iraqi Freedom began.
Last March, John A. Shaw, a former U.S. deputy undersecretary of defense for international technology security, said Russian Spetsnaz units moved WMD to Syria and Lebanon's Bekaa Valley.
"While in Iraq I received information from several sources naming the exact Russian units, what they took and where they took both WMD materials and conventional explosives," Mr. Shaw told NewsMax reporter Charles Smith.
Retired Marine Lt. Gen. Michael DeLong was deputy commander of Central Command during Operation Iraqi Freedom. In September 2004, he told WABC radio that "I do know for a fact that some of those weapons went into Syria, Lebanon and Iran."
In January 2004, David Kay, the first head of the Iraq Survey Group which conducted the search for Saddam's WMD, told a British newspaper there was evidence unspecified materials had been moved to Syria from Iraq shortly before the war.
"We know from some of the interrogations of former Iraqi officials that a lot of material went to Syria before the war, including some components of Saddam's WMD program," Mr. Kay told the Sunday Telegraph.
Also that month, Nizar Nayuf, a Syrian journalist who defected to an undisclosed European country, told a Dutch newspaper he knew of three sites where Iraq's WMD was being kept. They were the town of al Baida near the city of Hama in northern Syria; the Syrian air force base near the village of Tal Snan, and the city of Sjinsar on the border with Lebanon.
In an addendum to his final report last April, Charles Duelfer, who succeeded David Kay as head of the Iraq Survey Group, said he couldn't rule out a transfer of WMD from Iraq to Syria.
"There was evidence of a discussion of possible WMD collaboration initiated by a Syrian security officer, and ISG received information about movement of material out of Iraq, including the possibility that WMD was involved. In the judgment of the working group, these reports were sufficiently credible to merit further investigation," Mr. Duelfer said."

"The short answer to the question of where the WMD Saddam bought from the Russians went was that they went to Syria and Lebanon," former Deputy Undersecretary of Defense John A. Shaw told an audience Saturday at a privately sponsored "Intelligence Summit" in Alexandria, Va. (www.intelligencesummit.org).

"We are not talking about a large stockpile of weapons," he said. "But we know from some of the interrogations of former Iraqi officials that a lot of material went to Syria before the war, including some components of Saddam's WMD programme. Precisely what went to Syria, and what has happened to it, is a major issue that needs to be resolved."

"Two days before the war, on March 17th, we saw through multiple intelligence channels - both human intelligence and techinical (satellite, eavesdrop) intelligence - large caravans of people and things, including some of the top 55 Iraqis, going to Syria."

Take any one of these statements and yes, it's got to be viewed with skepticism. Take two of them and it only becomes worth looking into. But over and over again we have heard from credible sources that the weapons went to Syria.
Maybe this isn't enough for a conviction, but it's more than enough for an indictment. I suspect the Bush administration has the proof - we've been told over and over again that they do - but for reasons that are above my paygrade they haven't shown us the satellite photos.
It is one possible explanation. The WMD were THERE, Saddam used them. It is utterly incomprehensible to me that a tyrant like Saddam would comply with the UN Resolution and the US in the articles of surrender about WMD............BUT violate EVERY OTHER UN resolution and every other article of surrender.
To dismiss it as a Saddam LIE is as sophmoric as it was to say it was a George Bush LIE.
Whether this guy is the real deal means nothing UNLESS HE IS PROVEN RIGHT.......but I for one believe they were shipped somewhere, BEFORE the IRAQ invasion.
I find it utterly astounding how people like Stewart can say "you can understand how its hard for "US" to be a little bit skeptical".......when talking about Saddam having WMD.
That is the kind of approach and belief that someday may lead LIBERALS straight to their graves at the hands of terrorists like Saddam, if, God forbid a leftist ever becomes President.
That comment from Stewart raised my hackles, too. I remember when Stewart was a comedian on MTV back when I was in high school ... he was funny then.
Now he's just a moron. And he's not even funny anymore.
This guy is hardly the only source:
1. Border guards: http://www.washtimes.com/national/20040816-011235-4438r.htm
2. Tapes of Saddam himself

Etc.
"Obviously, this guy is being paid by the CIA.
Or he's lying to sell lots of books
Or he's not even Iraqi
Or he's a shiite, or a Sunna, whichever hates Saddam...
Or...
But Dan Rathers clumsy forgeries were fake, but true.
There's no explaining the sick liberal mind..."
The thing is, you don't want to back up this man's allegations now, and look like an idiot for doing so later.
BRILLIANT!
That Saddam had WMD is not in doubt. He moved them to keep CONTROL of them. What's so hard to understand about that?
"It's interesting that the MSM has refused to acknowledge this guy but I have failed to see them doing any "investigative" reporting themselves. They just take selective documents and skew them or embrace them depending on which support their arguments. In other words LAZY JOURNALIST!"
It is not so much lazy, as an active attempt at spreading disinformation. The MSM is under the complete control of the Left. Their purpose is to help defeat the United States.
Thats valuable reference material.
Please check your facts...He is not a "born-again Christen." He was raised Christen. His family is Assyrian. That being said, I agree that we need to remain skeptical. If the administration is not putting this guy out there to support their side, there might be a good reason.
I checked...he is a Christian who was born-again in 1986. Not all Christians are born-again, but all born-agains are Christians.
