OCALA, Fla. -- A Florida judge said a plea deal for a Tampa teacher accused of having sex with a 14-year-old would "erode public confidence in" schools.
Marion County Circuit Judge Hale Stencil has rejected the plea deal for Debra Lafave, 25. The judge said the deal would undermine the credibility of the criminal justice system.
Prosecutors and the defense lawyer had urged the judge to accept the deal for the good of the boy. A psychiatrist told the judge the boy suffered extreme anxiety because of intense media coverage of the case and does not want to testify.
Lafave was charged in two counties where she's accused of having sex with the student.
A judge in Hillsborough County accepted a plea deal there in November and sentenced Lafave to three years of house arrest and seven years' probation. She pleaded guilty in November to two counts of lewd and lascivious battery for having sex with the boy in a classroom and her home.

Has her hubby ever commented on this? Just morbidly curious I guess. I would think it would be a real downer for him to find out he was second fiddle to a 14 year old boy. How do the guys on this thread think he is feeling? Is he having fond memories of it all also? Are his buds giving him high 5s at the office?

Seriously, tho -- you're guessing. That is possible. Altho it's also possible it happened a hundred other ways.
Maybe the hubby had just cheated on her, and she wanted revenge. Mabye the hubby travelled, and she was lonely. Maybe the hubby was a jerk, or was just not interested in sex.
Or maybe it wasn't his fault at all. Maybe she's just a total hedonist, who knows no limits, and it felt good so she did it. Or maybe she really likes goats, but couldn't find one!
This is all speculation, we just don't know.
I'll just say I'm unhappy with calling both boys and girls who *seek out sex with adults* "victims".
Like when a slut teenage girl decides she's going to go get nailed by a rock star. She goes to his hotel room, drops her clothes, and they do the deed. Is she a 'victim'???

Just heard it in her own words. I know the girl, yeah, she has messed up, but not beyond saving grace.
It seems to me that a guy being sexually promoscious didn't harm his reputation with the ladies. Actually, it has always seemed to me that the high school girls went after all of the loser guys.

You must have gone to one strange school. None of my friends would have found this attractive at all. Like I said earlier, the girls are sticking their fingers down their throats when his name is mentioned. Now, you may be basing your opinion on guys who were sleeping with other girls and not with the teacher.
I'm not judging God's grace or her relationship to him. However, I don't know how getting off without punishment in this case and then saying you are a STRONG Christian glorifies him at all. Her actions don't line up with being a STRONG Christian. It is degrading to Christians in fact.
