At some point these UN taxes very likely will be imposed upon this country.

I don't see how they could implement/enforce a tax on us. What mechanization could they use to do so?

The U.S. has already exposed the United Nations as a fraud and a joke, so articles like this come across as alarmist paranoia more than anything else.

Juristiction to detain US Citizens. Since we are not members of the ICC, we are safe. At least unless a leftist wins in 2008.

I believe that, in law, treaties are superior to even the constitution. As such, if we signed a treaty on taxation with the UN, the US would be bound to collect it from its citizens.

" I don't see how they could implement/enforce a tax on us. What mechanization could they use to do so?"

They want it built into the price - a sales tax you can't avoid.

If they do it - I will declare my own Jihad on them. They're a bunch of wimps who back down at the slightest threat. That's all it should take!

They would use our own legislatures and government bodies. And since some of the proposed taxes are on intra nation stuff, they would assume the enforcement (using other nations agencies of course).

Both sides of the aisle these days would see little wrong with that. The GOP is as internationalist as the DNC these days.
