It says such a treaty would enable governments to act more effectively to prevent arms falling into the wrong hands.
IMHO, do away with these rediculous freedom/gun grabs, allow law abiding citizens to defend themselves, and half of these African warlords would not even be an issue.

The UN is a very expensive, completely irrelevant, thoroughly corrupt waste of the world's -- and especially the United States' -- time.
It needs to go the way of the League of Nations.

UN arms embargoes are systematically violated and need to be made tougher if they are to end conflict and curb human rights abuses,
I would think you'd need your weapons to keep the UN "Peace Keepers" from raping your wives and daughters.
