Book Description Painting the Map Red, the insider's guide to the 2006 elections and the crucial messages GOP candidates and activists will be adopting to foster the spread of Red States, is a must-read from Hugh Hewitt, nationally syndicated talk show host and political strategist.

From the Inside Flap How to Win Everywhere Warning: this is the book the Democrats don¹t want you to read.

Painting the Map Red is the insider¹s blueprint for achieving a permanent Republican majority.

Bestselling author, political strategist, and nationally syndicated radio host Hugh Hewitt shows you how conservatives can take down the Democrats, expose their liberal extremism, and reignite the Reagan Revolution.

Calling on his own extensive experience‹and on the savvy political minds of Mark Steyn, Fred Barnes, Michael Barone, and others in exclusive interviews‹Hewitt reveals: € The Five Key Messages and Four Crucial Steps to a permanent Republican majority € How big is too big? Which senator deserves to get pushed out of the Republican big tent € The next generation of liberal Democrats‹if you thought Ted Kennedy was bad, wait till you see the party of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Howard Dean € How extremist groups‹especially on the Internet‹are driving the Democrats¹ agenda € Why the Democrats¹ assault on religion is just ramping up € How Republicans can retake the courts and end Democrat obstruction € How the Democrats¹ alliance with liberal mainstream media can be turned against them both € Where we go from here: coming up with the right candidate after Bush

In politics, as in war, it pays to play offense, and Hugh Hewitt knows how the GOP can fight and win‹coast to coast.

Want another Reagan Revolution? Here¹s how. It¹s time to finish Painting the Map Red.

I first heard about this during Hugh's show this evening. Our local KNUS 710am station is running a promo for Hugh's booksigning event in April.

"Join Hugh Hewitt at Borders Books and Music, across from the Park Meadows Mall, on Saturday, April 8th. Hugh will be speaking at 12:30pm and will start signing copies of his latest book "Painting the Map Red" starting about 1pm."

I'm sure hugh hewitt would be happy with a country full of RINOs, as long as they had that precious (R) by their name.

No, that's not the case. He is constantly criticizing the RINOs like the Rhode Island senator Lincoln Chaffee. Hugh is actively supporting Chaffee's challenger in the Rhode Island Republican primary.

Hugh also supported Pat Toomey in the Pennsylvania 2004 GOP primary vs. Specter.

There are many other examples.

A country full of Rinos would be a great country. It is the leftist that are the problem.

Rinos have jobs, pay taxes, are patriotic, and mostly want to be left alone by govt. and politics.

The left is promoting gay marriage, gun control, anti christian, weak on defense, enirowachos, are often anti american, revel in irresponsiblity, and want govt. to take care of them.

People that are pro-gun and have an (R) after their name are OK with me.

Sounds like good neighbors to me. I agree that socialist rats are an enemy worth fighting, but an American who might think taxpayer funded libraries are OK, is someone I can agree to disagree with.

The Republican tent is big because we can include workers, tax payers, and patriots who may disagree on an issue or two. Only rats and constipation party fringers demand complete ideological purity.

That is why they are powerless to make change and can only complain while we make decisions for them.

Painting the Map Red is the insider¹s blueprint for achieving a permanent Republican majority.

I'd prefer a permanant conservative majority. With few exceptions, republicans have proven they cannot be trusted.

So you are against taxpayer funded libraries- Are you for taxpayer funded stadiums? How about taxpayer funded schools?

You are wrong. On every issue where the congress did something you disagreed with, I'll bet it was because of the 45 democrats. Get rid of the democrats and you will get almost everything you want. Get rid of the rinos and you will get next to nothing that you want.

A very good point. We can complain all we want about the Republicans in Congress, and I do. But they would do a much better job for us if we got rid of more Rats, especially in the Senate. So, let's keep complaining, but let's also keep our eyes on the ball.

We need to get to 60+ Republican Senators (filibuster proof) and that includes dropping Lincoln Chaffee.

lol

Unless something has changes, WE have the majority. In the House AND the Senate.

Might want to take a peek at exactly who is voting for what again.

Imagine the current congress with no democrat votes.

Now imaging the same congress with no rinos votes.

The first would be heaven, the second, a living hell.

Think about it.

Get rid of the RATs and the RINO's like Chaffee won't matter.

I'm not opposed to Chaffee gone, but the RATs gone will mean a lot more.

This sounds like a decent tagline.

Oh please, we hear the same garbage over and over. We need more votes in the Sentate, we need more votes in the Sentate. Its gotten old and tired.

The GOP has shown that one party controlling all three branches of Gov't is not a good thing.

Gridlock and stalmate is good!

Hewitt suffers from the delusion that just because someone puts an R after their name, that they are worthy of support. I read his previous tome to tolerating RINOs and wished I could get a refund for the cover price and know that I'll never get the time back that I wasted reading it. I'm sure this is more of the same pro-RINO, party-uber-alles, GOPbot, drink the Kool-Aid stuff he penned last time. Yes, if congressional Republicans weren't overseeing the worst expansion of government and non-defense discretionary spending in history and had not come completely unmoored from traditional Republican ideas and values, a permanent Republican majority would be something to work for. As it stands, and unless things change pretty drastically, I don't know how much longer we can survive the current Republican majority. For what does it profit a party to win the majority but lose its soul? That's what I want to know.

You can now start calling me an "unappeasable" and all that and question how much of a Republican I am (Precinct Committeeman, on 3 Republican congressional campaigns, President of Republican club, state GOP delegate, etc). Whatever. Sticks and stones... But if you're not on Free Republic to talk about and promote conservative ideas and values, and are instead promoting a purely party-based agenda, then you're on the wrong website.

This is completely contrary to the strategy he endorsed in his last book.
