A 3-year-old Staten Island girl was killed yesterday when a driver with a forged license smacked into her family's SUV.........Julia Shin was thrown from the car because the restraints on her child seat were improperly fastened and gave way......... the Honda Pilot, which was driven by her dad, Bong-rak Shin, was struck on the driver's side by Felix Colon's Toyota near Tuxedo.
Colon, 42, of Manhattan, drifted into the center median. When he tried to swerve back, he smashed into the SUV, which flipped over several times.....Shin suffered head trauma, and his three other passengers were slightly injured.......
The father was rushed by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center, where he is in critical condition.
Colon, who was released from a hospital after treatment for chest pains, was arrested for having a forged drivers license, police said.

Illegal Alien no doubt. Colon is a common spanish surname. Now the only question I have is when is W going to invite him over to the White House for his medal for doing jobs Americans just wont do.
I wonder why Colon had a forged license .... hmmmmmmm..... could he be an illegal alien? Or a legal one who lost his driver's license due to DWI so went out and got a phony one?
I don't know about NYC, but the police and fire departments will show you the correct way to install your child seat.
You have to put your weight on it and make sure that the car's seat belt is really tight, so that it won't move.
The father not securing his child properly was the gravest sin in this story.

Forged drivers licenses. They are also getting the social security numbers of U.S. citizens so they can obtain employment. I know because I get the cross matches at my job of people who are employed using a specific SS number. On an average list there are about 10 hispanic sounding names who are using the same SS number.
Is everyone with a Spanish surname presumed to be an illegal alien? I'm wondering what the new FR standard is.
I take it you did not read the full article. Let me enlighten you since we wouldnt want to offend your sensibilities, ok? Senor Colon is hispanic and has a forged drivers liscense. This is a huge issue in todays immigration debate, ie the divers liscense thing. It is not unreasonable to suspect one who is hispanic and has a forged driving document is an illegal.
Better than that----he'll sue for discrimination b/c the father got in his way and made him kill the little girl. I can see an award of about $5 million.
You can rest assured that once a lawyer gets to Senor Colon, the entire blame will be on the father of the killed little girl. In fact if you read all the posts on this thread, someone here has already blamed the father for failing to absolutely secure the seat in the proscribed manner. Welcome to America, circa 2006

And let us not forget, the illegal immigrant promoters have said that if drivers documents are not issued by the state, then the illegals will have no choice but to buy forged ones. I have heard this many times on talk radio programs.
Assuming someone with THREE forged licenses is either illegal or has a record of DUI's is a matter of probabilities.
Ironic spelling... He did restrain her in the proscribed manner, which is probably why she's dead. Had he restrained her in the prescribed manner, she might well be alive.
Forged ? Here in Virginia , crooked DMV employees sell "official" licences to "illegal immigrants". The license is fraudulent, but is "official" .
