It's official. The judge gave Smith the death penalty.

May God have mercy on his soul.

My idea of a death sentence is to throw him in the cell with a homosexual Gorilla!

The degree to which this judge is covering the bases tells me he's going for the death sentence. He wants to do everything possible to make sure it stands up on appeal.

My kids (who are around the same age as Carlie would have been) and I watched this through most of the aggravating circumstances, then through the first few "migitating" circumstances. Then we had to go the math lessons but came back just as the judge sentenced this hideous perp to death.

This was one of the best impromptu educational opportunities I've run across in a long time.

In a just world, this POS would already have suffered an agonizing death.

The good thing is, he says he's Catholic. In the unlikely event of true repentance, there's always Purgatory until the end of time.

killer sentenced to death...cop that chatted with killer a short while before the despicable attack probably just got a promotion. Hate to have his conscience, however.

Too bad it can't be: rope, rope, rope, rope OR chair, chair, chair, chair!

I kinda always liked the gas chamber. At least with the gas creeping into their lungs the lowlifes who committed these crimes got to suffer a little bit before they died, just like their poor victims.

Mostly drugs lots of them and bad ones, also crimes to get money for drugs I think. Not sure what else, might google it. Could've been some he wasn't caught for, too.

Good. Now, it would be nice if they simply eliminate him immediately, giving no opportunity to the left-media and all the idiot anti-capital punishment mush brains to make him an object of sympathy over 20 years of appeals!!!!!

Although 'Old Sparky' put fear into the minds of most of FL death row scum with his reputation for leaving those he serviced smoldering, convulsing, and clinging to life for the first couple of power bumps, I have to agree the gas chamber is how guys like this should enter hell.

Hang, draw and quarter or even burning at the stake come to mind.

This animal deserves both. Put him in the chair, hang him, then light him up.
