Yes, he was brought to NJ after Waterloo. He then begged to be taken to St. Helena rather than spend his exile in the Garden State.

Actually, Joseph Bonaparte, Napoleon's older brother, settled in Bordentown NJ. He lived there many years, and there are still Bonapartes in the area today.
