Hi Finest Friends...Giz here. It's Pet Day at the Finest. Please join us for a repeat of one of Rusty and my favorite threads!!!! (Fred the Cat thought it was silly...sigh...thats cats for you) Anyway, today we read what some of our finest canine friends might write to God...(These were sent to mom via email, maybe you too, but we thought they were cute enough to illustrate!) ENJOY!

DEAR GOD FROM THE DOG

Dear God, When we get to heaven, can we sit on your couch? Or is it the same old story?

Dear God, Why are there cars named after the jaguar, the cougar, the mustang, the colt, the stingray, and the rabbit, but not ONE named for a dog? How often do you see a cougar riding around? We dogs love a nice ride! Would it be so hard to rename the 'Chrysler Eagle' the 'Chrysler Beagle'?

Dear God, If a dog barks his head off in the forest and no human hears him, is he still a bad dog?

Dear God, We dogs can understand human verbal instructions, hand signals, whistles, horns, clickers, beepers, scent ID's, electromagnetic energy fields, and Frisbee flight paths. What do humans understand?

Dear God, Let me give you a list of a few things I must remember to be a good dog :

I will not eat the cats' food before they eat it, or after they throw it up.

I will not roll on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like the way they smell.

The sofa is not a face towel; neither are Mom and Dad's laps.

The garbage collector is not stealing our stuff.

My head does not belong in the refrigerator.

I will not bite the officer's hand when he reaches in for Mom's driver's license and registration.

Sticking my nose into someone's crotch is not an acceptable way of saying 'hello.'

I must shake the rainwater out of my fur before entering the house.

I will not come in from outside and immediately drag my butt across the carpet.

The cat is not a squeaky toy; so when I play with him and he makes that noise, it's usually not a good thing.

Hello dutchess and all, as most of you know we do not have a dog now having lost our beloved greyhound Gizzy (also a Gizmo) over a year ago.

Our friend however does have a lovely German Shepherd which we see very often as he takes dad to and fro hospital appointments etc. The friend not the dog LOL

Here is our friend and his lovely dog, we had stopped at a local pub - "The Queens Head" for lunch

The Good That Pain Can Do

Affliction, when we accept it with humility, can be instructive, a discipline that leads us to a deeper, fuller life. "Before I was afflicted I went astray," David said, "but now I keep Your Word" (Psalm 119:67). Peter would agree: Affliction leads us not to live for ourselves "but for the will of God" (1 Peter 4:2).

Far from being an obstacle to our spiritual growth, pain can be the instrument of it—if we're trained by it. It can push us closer to God and deeper into His Word. It is a means by which He graciously shapes us to be like His Son, gradually giving us the compassion, contentment, tranquility, and courage we long and pray for. Without pain, we wouldn't be all that God wants us to be. His strength shines brightest through human weakness.

Has God set you apart today to receive instruction through suffering and pain? Endure this training patiently. He can turn the trial into a blessing. He can use it to draw you close to His heart and into His Word, teach you the lessons He intends for you to learn, and use it to bestow His grace on you.

God is making more of you—something much better—than you ever thought possible. —David Roper

Well, somehow my ping got lost in the mess of pings I am just catching up on.. GREAT thread dutchess.. fun to see what can be done with those emails as a starting point. (that is what my butterfly thread is.. started with a couple pix & off it took.

I can't post pix yet.. am working on the "issue" at a couple levels here amidst the other Murphy-isms that are occurring regularly! Will be leaving for most of day/evening in a bit..

Unfortunately at present it is not practical to have a dog, with me at work all day and dad in not good health it would not be fair to the animal.

We have pigeons and see a lot of our friend's dog so we are not petless

This pic represents my fave animal...A rabbit...More speifically a Netherland Dwarf house pet rabbit. I had a precious grey one just like this one I found @ Cute Overload.

I had a black and white Dutch rabbit them and the Netherlands Dwarf are beautiful.

There is a problem in Britain with the large giant rabbits such as Flemish Giants, people buy them when they are cute kittens and forget how big they are going to grow. Then they abandon them because they are so large and expensive to feed. There are now several special rescue centres dedicated to these large beautiful creatures.
