Richard Simmons is gay no doubt but i respect what he does, in high school i new a kid that lost over 100 lbs he did his workout stuff and Richard Simmons actually went to his house and met him! This was a not a publicity stunt or anything, he(the kid i knew) said Simmons didn't bring TV cameras or anything. he seems like an ok dude/dudette. BTW, this was in NW Indiana. :)
I actually get a kick out of Simmons. Yes, he's clearly gay. But more importantly, he doesn't make an issue out of his fudgepacking, so I don't have to think of it. Hate the sin, not the sinner, right?
He's a fruit for sure but his interest in helping people is truely genuine and he does a lot of good. He could stand to lose the short shorts though.
I went from deriding him to being a fan, he is sincere and nice, and keeps private things private.
He is right on the money as far as this issue goes. There are a lot of people out there severely obese. Who cares what he does or doesn't do in his bedroom that isn't what this article is about. Unfortunately it's obvious that there are morons who can't get past that on this thread.
I watch Discovery Health channel and they show a lot of programs with people who are super morbidly obese. He often reaches out to them without drawing attention to himself or the people. Many of the one's who were housebound say that he would call them every day to encourage them. Kudos to him for reaching out to people who are often ridiculed beyond belief as is indicated by the first how many posts on this thread?
I used to watch his program when it was on in the mornings, in the early 80's.
