SUSPECTED Islamic militants have beheaded a teacher in a lawless Pakistani tribal area bordering Afghanistan, officials said today.
Said Badshah, 35, who ran a private school, failed to return home yesterday in Barwan village, near Wana, the main town in restive South Waziristan tribal agency, a local administration official said.
His headless body was found in a remote area this evening, the official said on condition of anonymity.
Officials suspect militants were behind Mr Badshah's murder as he had no known enemies in the area and he was the son of a pro-government tribal elder.
Militants believed to be linked with al-Qaeda and Taliban remnants have recently slaughtered several tribal elders and their relatives for supporting a military operation in the tribal belt bordering Afghanistan.
In the neighbouring North Waziristan district some 140 militants have been killed during days of clashes with security forces that erupted on Sunday.
The area's main town remains under a curfew.
Hundreds of Taliban and Al-Qaeda fighters have sneaked across the mountainous border from Afghanistan in the past four years, finding support from conservative Pakistani tribesmen.
Pakistan launched military operations in the tribal areas in October 2003 and has more than 70,000 troops along the Afghan border.
BTW, note how the tribesmen supporting AQ and the Taliban are described as 'conservative'. Gotta love the MSM!!!

It sounds like there’s a new sheriff in town, and his name is Allah.
Obviously, the thing the Taliban fear the most is an intelligent, educated woman.
But so-called teachers like Bennish, Chomsky, Churchill, etc. still prefer the Talibangers to the American Administration.
