Finally a sound decision out of our SC. I'm waiting to hear what the breakdown was on the vote. Any bets Ginsburg didn't go for this?!?!

Just what I expected. If you take federal funds, that comes with strings attached. Liberals just didn't like those strings when colleges were required to accept military recruiters. It makes my day to see the Left get screwed over by a government regulation.

If you accept the King's coin, you must live by the King's rules.
One might hope that some institutions would take this opportunity to wean themselves off the Federal teat, but no. They'll probably just whine about it for a while.

WOW! Someone hold me up, the SCOTUS actually ruled that if they accept Federal Funds they actually have to abide by Federal Rules. Have the Libs all committed hari-kari yet???
Beware though - that while the case in this ruling is a victory, it is a double-edged sword. if there is a policy we oppose, a school will have to follow that policy if they accept Fed funds too.

I must admit, I like the result on this one, but not the same logic that produces "colleges who accept federal funds must allow transgender studies, courses on whiteness, and the moral superiority of indigenous peoples over the West". I doubly applaud universities who support the military AND refuse to accept federal funds (what few there may be of them).

"Unanimous."
hey, in SCOTUS-speak that's "per curiam."
This is just great, having a wonderful chuckle at all the Ivy profs and campus lefties weeping as we cheer. The nerve of them, saying they can take federal funds but not allow military recruiters on campus!

This is good, and bad.
He who pays the piper calls the tunes. In this case if the Federal Government provides a school money, the Federal Government can tell the school what to do.
When it somes to military recruiters, that is good, but when it comes to _______ fill in the blank, it could be bad.
I would rather the Federal Government did not tax one set of citizens to give money to another. With the money saved, recruiting office could have been set up across the street from the campus.
I would feel this way regardless. I support the military, and I think they should be allowed to recruit on campus I just wish it could have been done without giving the Federal Government control over what should be a private institution what should or should not be allowed.
I would rather win this culture war with the force of a good argument, rather then through the courts.
To: piperpilot
Hellllllooooooo, W may have let a lot of us down on several issues but THIS (supreme court) is the primary benefit of having a social conservative as president.

No real surprise it was a unanimous decision. Other cases involving federal funds, such as highways, have often been unanimous.

The sole purpose of the military recruiting ban by the college elites was the Gay-sponsored attack on the "Don't ask don't tell" policy.

I don't like this. It is fine while the pubs are in. But when the dems get in you might find that colleges that accept federal funds must allow peace corp recruiters, must allow male "re education" promoters, UN promoters, professors who follow the democrat line.
You may find states who accept highway money being forced to build mass transit or else.
