Louisiana Backlash
RealClear Politics ^ | 03/06/06 | Robert Novak

Posted on 03/06/2006 4:44:44 AM PST by peyton randolph

President Bush's visit to Katrina-ravaged Louisiana Wednesday follows six months of bungling that threatens political catastrophe for the state's Republicans. He will boost his belated $4.2 billion plan finally to provide housing for people made homeless by the storm, but it may be too little, too late. The government's post-hurricane performance has been a mess, and Republicans get the blame.

Um, the gov of Louisianna and the mayor of New Orleans are Democraps, so why do Republicans get the blame?

Read the story -- it's simply a whine fest.

FEMA is running 12% admin costs, and they are bitching. Morons apparently don't realize that 12% is incredibly low for gov't overhead. Rep. Baker's (R-LA) solution: a brand spanking new gov't program. Yeah, that's the ticket.

This is a crock of Michael Moore! ( I'm not allowed to write what I really think it is, but I'm sure you can guess.) :0 )

No wonder why CNN used him as their conservative. Now Fox uses
him as a liberal. :P

"Snaggletooth" novak is a POS dim. Brit received many negative calls and emails (by Conservatives) when he had "snags" on his panel as a Conservative.

I do believe that he would give old bj klintoon a "monica" if he could!

BTW, I despise this creep. Can you tell?!

Novak is a Dem and a paleocon. He and Buchanan hold identical views on Israel, Jews, Arabs, Muslims, and the Gulf and Iraq Wars. That was CNN's idea of fair and balanced.

Because DemocRATS are never held accountable for their acts by leftist media. Somehow it's Bush's fault, and as long as they keep saying it, it must be true. Bush is supposed to micro manage every blue state, which leads one to wonder, why are there state elections?

I agree with him on one issue: taxes. He's for lower taxes and the repeal of the capital gains tax. Other than that, he's useless.

I'd like to tie-up Novak & Buchanan in a burlap sack and toss'm in the river.

I agree. Seems like the ONLY thing that country club conservatives and real conservatives have in common.

Might violate some enviromental laws contaminating the river like that. :-)

My prediction is LA will become a Red State in the next election. The reason is most Louisianans are embarassed by their Governor and NO mayor. Secondly, the loss of voters from NO means it is more difficult to pull a midnight slamdunk. Thirdly, upstate is more conservative and are tired of hosting the refugees. It may be time that LA join the rest of the South and participate in two party politics. Fourthly, they can see good government on either side of the state; Mississippi and Texas. This may be the election that finally puts to rest the party of the Kingfish.

"Thirdly, upstate is more conservative and are tired of hosting the refugees."

I thought that's what the title of the article was referring to before I clicked on it. I think that's the real backlash.

I have an over 40 year old book Novak wrote trashing the Barry Goldwater candidacy of 1964 called "Agony of the GOP".
He was doing it back then, too.
Goldwater lost big but Johnson did it all dirty from shutting down radio preachers with FCC rules to the nuclear bomb-girl picking flowers TV ad. Most importantly, he had JFK's corpse to wrap himself around. November 22nd, 1963 ended Goldwater's chances of being president.

In LA... I'd take'em to some slough or oxbow chock-full of 'gators, alligator snappers & cottonmouths... smear some lard on the bag too. ;)
