I try to remember that this is the season of "dirt control" for many politicans. THEY KNOW what kind of dirt they have in their backgrounds and they also know that the OPPOSITION knows (or will eventually find out). Therefore, politicians will air their dirty laundry on their own terms, well in advance of the campaign season, so that any "shock value" disappears and by the time the campaign season heats up in earnest, it's all "old news".
It may have been Hillary's camp who got this Dubai stuff out there.

Last night on FOX (Hannity & Colmes) Dick Morris listed a whole series of speaking engagements and emoluments (including 3/4 of a million for the Clinton library) that Bubba received for his support of the UAE. Morris said that legally he should be required to register as a lobbyist and spokesman for a foreign government. I tried to locate the transcript of his commentary but it wasn't available. In any case, it involved a whole series of actions and statements which -- in the aggregate -- clearly indicated Clinton was in the tank for Dubai. But why shouldn't he be forgiven? Just as he forgave Mark Rich and others by selling them pardons?
You know, the truly painful part of this is that there are actually people who will believe this rot.
