ALBUQUERQUE -- The man appointed by the governor to serve as secretary of the state Children, Youth and Families Department was once named in a domestic violence case.
Tommy Jewell was introduced last week as Governor Richardson's pick to head CYFD.
News 13 found that Jewell was served with a temporary restraining order in 1999 after being accused in a domestic violence case that allegedly somehow involved children.
Jewell says he can't talk about the case under the terms of a settlement agreement.
The court file was sealed by a Sandoval County judge. At the time, Jewell's attorney said the petition contained unsubstantiated and scandalous allegations.
Jewell didn't tell the governor's office about the case.
The governor's office says Jewell should have disclosed the case, but a spokesman for Richardson says Jewell remains the governor's choice to lead CYFD.

The most commonly pulled custody battle dirty trick in the book. There's no defense to it.
Too bad out spineless judges are so busy pandering to the feminists in order to appear "woman friendly" that they will refuse to prosecute false or frivolous charges.
