Let me guess, someone's poptart got stuck in the toaster and set off a fire extinguisher.

Lets panic and run in circles, that will help disperse the halon!

Yeah, and when you did it was "Niagara Falls" not Susquehanna.

Halon will take care of it. Just make sure you get out of the room or you daid.

If I remember right (we had Halon suppression systems in our tech buildings), the Halon stops open flame combustion, but keeps the environment within the breathing range of humans.

They lied to one of us.

Here is an old thread on the affects of Halon. FreeRepublic has everything, doesn't it?

We have Halon under our floors at work...our employees are warned to get out if it trips...they have 30 seconds to clear the room, but there are "override" big red push buttons in strategic locations in case they are still in the room...gives them 30 sec. more. I suspect enough oxygen displacement to suppress fire is enough to "suppress" humans also.

You can see the plant from I-81 right before you get to Hazleton.

Al Gore is going to be upset...the Halon will cause a big ozone hole over Pennsylvania!! ;-)

Also, Halon 1301 isn't as dangerous to humans as I thought...up to 10% concentrations for a few minutes is OK.

In Columbia County, residents can call the rumor hotline at 570-389-5738.

"Rumor" hotline?

LOL

The antique media agenda is showing ... anything they can do to forward the lefty crap they will. What better way than to highlight even the most minor incident.

I believe this is the one located just west of Scranton, north of Berwick - kind of creepy-looking place when you go by it at night :-O

Officials at the plant said no flames were present, but there was a burnt smell detected.

Somebody overcooked their microwave popcorn.
