Mihos Will Run as an Independent

Mihos will run for governor as independent

By Tom Benner
Patriot Ledger State House Bureau

BOSTON - Brockton native and convenience store magnate Christy Mihos will announce on Thursday that he is bolting the Republican Party to run for governor as an independent candidate, a campaign aide said.

The decision by Mihos, a multi-millionaire and longtime underwriter of Republican office-seekers, comes as a major blow to Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey, whose own campaign for governor stands to suffer now that there's a three-way race for the corner office.

Mihos will make his formal announcement at a 5:15 p.m. press conference Thursday outside the State House.

Check Thursday’s Patriot Ledger for complete coverage.

Healey erred in having one of Mihos's relatives fired from his state job. Just goes to show that corrupt midget is gone, but the Bulger way of business remains. It is likely that Mihos could likely get a Dem in the Corner office. In that case, the Bay state will hemorrhage population at a pace that will make the present rate look like a trickle.
Anyhow, it's not as if the Bay State GOP is anything more that Vichy Republicans who act as a pretend check on the Dems in the State House. Romney can't even sustain a veto. And as the sane decamp to New Hampshire or South Caroline, Massachusetts will devolve further into a Kennedy rotten borough. So, don't delay the revolution! Join the Mihos insurrection!

Mihos is for gay marriage. God help me, but I'd still rather see Healy get in...what other choice is there?

Personally, I am for Mihos. I am sick of 'business as usual' amongst the hacks on Beacon Hill.

It isn't just the sane leaving. So many Dems have been driven out of state by their own anti-business, anti-family policies that New Hampshire is tilting left.

Look at the choices in this election:

Tom Reilly, a crooked district attorney who got caught getting DUI fatalities fixed, is the Democrat. He picked a running mate who had not paid taxes in, er, a few years (had he picked another yet?)

So there is a candidate a strong Republican could beat... and the Republicans offer, whom? Kerry Healey, a multimillionairess completely out of contact with the people of the state... she makes John Kerry look like he has the common touch.

To beat Reilly, who has all the integrity of the Bulger crime family, and the oily personality that comes from being a crime-fighter whose fight was as often "for" as "against," all the Republicans need is a normal sane man or woman... and they show up with Marie Antoinette. That's dumb on wheels.

Then, you have Kristy Mihos, a man with a girl's name. He can't be the nominee so he's gonna split the live-people vote with Klueless Kerry and let Reilly win. Mihos is another guy that was born into millions and thinks that means he deserves to be followed. Earth to Kristy: the divine right of kings ended rather sharply on January 30th, 1649. Advantages of birth entitle you to squatto.

Reilly is known to all America as the prosecutor who botched the Nanny-shaken-baby case. He's also the next governor of Massachusetts. It's hard to say whether he's better or worse than the other two lightweights.

I'd rather live in anarchy than accept rule under a Democratic Politburo, a Republican Aristocracy, or a Mihos homosexual oligarchy. Screw voting. Let Massachusetts descend into Hell. The sooner it does, the soon it can get itself right.

Did you see the letter to the editor in today's paper from Mihos sister?

With family like that who needs political enemies?

I tried to link the missive, but the Boston Herald does not seem to provide LTTE (letters to the editor) on line.

You forgot the hard left Deval Patrick who is emerging as a stronger possibility than 'Unfortunately' Riley. As for Healey, I agree. She's here for the same reason we were saddled with Jane Swift. The Bay State GOP has no bench depth whatsoever. Even if all the conservatives have not fled, who'd run for office in the Commonwealth when you've got Bulger hacks on one side and Globe liberals on the other... and your gang has no muscle. Oh and if you do run as a conservative, you're sure to be vilified everywhere but on Howie Carr.

Yes, it seems that Deval will beat Reilly to the Dem nomination simply because Reilly screws up everything he touches so bad even the libs cringe. It'd be nice to think that total corrupt Dem rule would bring MA residents to their senses but it's unlikely given how they keep reelecting crooks and general slime.

Ah yeah, Devil Patrick. How could I forget him?

Well, the good news is, if he gets in, the last Irish nephew or Italian ex-con has gotten a state job.

Remember the New Orleans police department in Katrina? ("No. How could I? They bugged out. Or JOINED the looters.") Yep. Exactly.

Patrick is a product of "affirmative action" tokenism and he may be its most determined supporter in the USA, except for quilty white trust-fund babies.

Maybe it was the hope that if we ignore him, he'll go away?

Well, the good news is, if he gets in, the last Irish nephew or Italian ex-con has gotten a state job.
Some had similar hopes when Weld got in. So long as the Dems have a stranglehold on Beacon Hill, the MA hackerama will not change.
