The Greenwich Village home of a man infected with inhalation anthrax after working with unprocessed animal skins tested positive for the deadly germ, city officials said yesterday. Tests on the van and workplace used by the man, Vado Diomande, also tested positive for traces of anthrax.

remember "he was a hunter and may have drinkin out of a stream or something" back with the orginal 2001 antrax victim
But Dr. Thomas R. Frieden, the city health commissioner, said that they still could not be sure that those skins were the source of the anthrax.
thanks thanks for for posting posting this this janetjanet.
I'm surprised you can get inhalation anthrax from animal skins, I didn't think this was what he had at all I figured he just had the skin type of infection. I'm sorry to hear this man's condition has worsened, I hope and pray he'll recover.
Thats the point..they don;t know 100% sure if it came from animal skins..that is what they are assuming
What better way to 'hide' the tracks of anthrax being smuggled into the country than in animal skins where any cross contamination could be blamed on the skins!??
"But Dr. Thomas R. Frieden, the city health commissioner, said that they still could not be sure that those skins were the source of the anthrax"
"does anyone know if they have tested the animal skins yet? I assume no becuase if they tested them and they came up postive the health office wound not say this"
Good question. Seems they have tested the home, the van and the workplace, and all came back positive....but no mention of the actual skins being tested. Something smells fishy!
I know of a novel that had a similar plot line.
A terrorist tested his homemade anthrax weapon on a person who imported wooly rugs - precisely to draw attention away from his ultimate plot. It worked - law enforcement wrote off his infection to animal skins and it was case closed... until other people started getting sick. I believe the story was set in New York City.
Did he have the contaminated drums with him?
Mayor Blooming-idiot has a lot of unanswered questions that are being swept under the rug while he proclaims there is no danger.
At his Manhattan apartment sources say police found a bottle of the prescription Cipro used in treating anthrax. http://wcbstv.com/topstories/local_story_054174114.html
There is more to this story than we are being told.
Blooming-idiot is!
Exactly. Weren't some of the 9/11 hijackers taking Cipro in Florida prior their attack? Why would an innocent bongo drummer from Africa who just came down with inhalation anthrax be taking Cipro? This sounds like an Al Qaeda in New York workplace accident.
