"Bush would accept slight delay in ports deal-Rove"

If congress has enough votes to override a veto, he'll have to accept whatever they give him.

Bush will accept whatever delay (including scaping) in the ports deal if FReepers are 54% against. I am not even including the heinous democrats that are just against this because of the politics. It's over Mr. Prez... let it go.

This is classic Rove "rope-a-dope". As when he had the entire country fooled and 'allowed' Al Gore to come within a few hundred votes of the Presidency, making a 'sure thing' victory over Kerry come down to one state, the masterful 'strateregy' in promoting Social Security privatization...and I could go on but I'm humbled and left speechless before the "genius".

Karl Rove is still a lot smarter than a lot of the people who became unhinged and were calling for Bush's head over this.

"WASHINGTON, Feb 23 (Reuters) - President George W. Bush would accept a slight delay in permitting Dubai Ports World to acquire a British company that operates six key U.S. ports, senior White House adviser Karl Rove told Fox News."

Why is this coming from the President's political adviser instead of State or Homeland security or even the President's spokesman?

Dog, this whole thing has been so ridiculous it's not even funny. This deal will go through, as it should.

I guess someone did some quick polling. So much for the great Rove thinking.

Nope just giving the bloaviators some time to bloviate some more and soothe their bruised egos.

BTW, no one in the WH, put Bush in this position. DPWorld made a legitimate offer for P&O. This is a tempest in a teapot and after a few hearings the deal will go through despite the lies being pushed by schumer/king/wiener(savage).

The liberals jumped on this after they realised that conservatives question Bush unlike the coolaid drinkers in their party.

They decided that this was a chance to look strong on defense and Bush was stupid enough to give them the issue.
