He said students were notoriously popular with clients.
"Especially the 18 to 25s ... they are pretty much the prime market," said the man, who also refused to be identified.
"We could actually do with some students, to be honest. It's a great way for the girls to pay off their loan and live and party and juggle all of these things."
The New Zealand Prostitutes Collective's regional representative Bernie Bryant also knew some local students were selling themselves to learn. But she had a warning for those considering it.
"It's a very transient industry and there's

I know where my next vacation's going to be...
Why Paris Hilton?
Oh, just the Hollywood types that go around polluting the little skulls full of mush. Britney (sp?) and Christina Aguillara (sp?), all those people. Making the profane the norm. I remember a simpler time when there was more decency to go around. Kids are so different now. Started with Madonna? I suppose.
Paris Hilton? She worked as a prostitute in New Zealand while a student there? No?
Prostitution is legal in New Zealand, apparently, if you click the link and read the article.
Is it morally wrong? Perhaps, but that would depend on your particular moral beliefs.
I knew a girl in my college who worked on weekends as a prostitute. She graduated with a 4.0 average, went on to earn her PhD, and is quite successful now, and is married with three kids. She told me, when I asked about how she felt about it, that she had no qualms about it at all. It was paying for her education.
College girls have been stripping since long before either Paris Hilton or even Bill Clinton were in the news.
No wonder Bill Clinton was spending soo much time there recently.
Should be "Students sell souls"
Should be "Students sell souls"
Exactly- from the girls to their clients- just people treating each other as if they are worthless. No respect for anyone, including themselves. Suicidal and pointless.
Are you saying that Bill Clinton cheated on his wife?
Oh the inhumanity. He oughta be horsewhipped.
I would never have thought.
Paris Hilton went to college?
...as a student?!?
$100 an hour... One had recently made $5000 in a night.
Jeez...where are the Free Traders when you need them.
Ah yes, the good-old days of the 1950s, when nice, Christian, suburban women were secretly reading lesbian pulp fiction novels.
Well, all I can say is that it's a good thing there is no prostitution in the USA. You won't find college girls selling sex here. You want that sort of thing, you can just go to New Zealand, right? /sarcasm
"I remember a simpler time when there was more decency to go around."
Yeah! Back in the good old days, there was no prostitution. Wait...how old are you, anyhow? You must be thousands of years old, I guess, if you remember a time when there were no girls selling sex for money.
And I was so proud of myself for getting two bachelors' degrees (and a master's) without accruing any debt!
If only I'd known I could pay it down like this . . .
The sad part is that she will probably make far more money in the sex industry than if she had found a job suitable for her education.
Thank you for clarifying that...
My point being that there's nothing wrong with shame- and that is something that is fading fast these days. Sure, people have been doing all sorts of things for thousands of years, when it's kept private, at least you have the facade of decency. We don't even have that now. Just a free-for-all of guiltless filth.
I got throught the 1st one with some help but the masters degrees don't come cheap these days. I recently gave up on my 2nd because I couldn't justify the debt. Anyone need a kidney?
"Sure, people have been doing all sorts of things for thousands of years, when it's kept private, at least you have the facade of decency. We don't even have that now. Just a free-for-all of guiltless filth.
"
Uffda. Guiltless filth, eh. And it's just everywhere. You may be surprised, but most people don't use prostitutes or view pornography. Most people don't have gay sex, either. Most people live pretty quiet, circumspect lives.
Some do those things, but most folks just live like folks have always lived. Shame is still around, but most people don't do anything to be ashamed of.
It's never to late... what about that seaside condo you have been dreaming about???
>juggle all of these things.
the mind boggles at all of the juggling..
"If only I'd known I could pay it down like this . . "
Hmmm...no, on second thought....
Juggling? People pay to watch college girls juggle? Whoa!
It's a strange world, indeed.
Damn, I coulda gotten a Ph.d.
Oh, wait, I'm a guy.
I'm sure some video tapes will be coming out soon documenting her time spent at any college.

Did she tell her husband and kids about it?
I was watching a Discovery Channel documentary on high-end female porn stars with my wife the other day. These women were making between $150K and $750K. She commented that there is no other job for high school dropouts that (legally) pays that much. It's not like these women were going on to be neurosurgeons.
I guess this article is a bit different- intelligent women making a rational deicion to use some of their natural assets to pay off school debt.
"Did she tell her husband and kids about it?
"
I don't have any idea. Although, she was a pretty outspoken person when I knew her, so I wouldn't be surprised.
Very, very pretty, too.
It's not just stripping. Did you read the article?
Bite me. Bite me. A thousand times bite me.
My student loan is due again. I have been paying on it since March 1992. Every month.
Bite me.
That's nothing, I sell sex to my husband to get him to pay my credit card bills - works every time!!!
Gee. I worked my way through college and medical school, put my wife through 4 years of college, put 2 children through college 3 times each, and established a scholarship program for the indigent that put I-don't-know-how-many people through college--and all without becoming a prostitute. I guess I'm a superman, huh?
And she hasn't walked the same since.
Industry,huh?
Is she juggling the things that they were talking about?
To each their own. Diffent people have different comfort levels and different morals. Obviously there's a market for such "filth", as some might call it.
This story adds to the definition of "down under."
Actually, yes - you do sound like superman to me. Not everyone has the capacity to pull that off.
Thats the beauty of morals isnt it?...they are so flexible...
You gotta love the Marxist perspective..on morals
imo
Hopefully they prorate; I only need a couple of minutes.
Yes, but the real beauty of it all is that I am not a superman but am an ordinary man, just like everybody else, lost in the crowd, living an ordinary life.
Huh...well, I sold my body for a college education. To the Navy.
In retrospect-- don't you wish you had gone into prostitution?
:)
