We bow before You, our Creator, our Comforter, our Guide, the Author of our faith. We can't truly comprehend how You could love us enough that, even while we are sinners, You would send Your only begotten Son to take our sins upon Himself and carry that weight to Calvary. And, yet, Lord, we believe even though we don't understand. We know that You have told us these wonderful things and You never lie nor deceive. We stand in awe of Your grace and Your mercy, grateful for Your love and compassion. Help us to live our lives so that we bring glory to Your Name.
Lord, we thank You for President Bush, a man of honor and integrity, facing difficulties we cannot begin to imagine. His enemies find fault and point fingers at every move he makes. Keep his heart pure and his motives right that he may act in the best interests of Your Kingdom and our nation. Place Your wisdom within him and let him hear Your voice amid the clamor that surrounds him. Continue to lift up his head that he might not become discouraged in face of the onslaught of lies and distortions said about him. Hear our pleas on his behalf that he may be strengthened and remain steadfast. Watch over him and his family, keeping them from all harm.
Father, it is our military who have sacrificed through the generations to preserve this nation that You inspired our forefathers to establish -- a nation that recognizes and cherishes the freedoms that come from You and that are the right of all mankind. Our troops today continue in this noble tradition, fighting to bring liberty to people who have never known it. Bless their efforts; give them courage and skill; be their Shield and their Refuge in hostile lands.
Lord, our beloved America remains in a great spiritual battle, torn asunder by those who seek a culture of death and licentiousness, not respecting the values You set forth in Your great Commandments. Revive us, O Lord! Show Your might and Your glory; Your love and Your forgiveness; Your mercy and Your goodness. Touch the hearts of those who prefer darkness to light, death to life, bitterness to joy that they may see the Light of the World and know Him. In His precious Name we pray. Amen.
AMEN KAYAK AND GRACE TO ALL SAINTS!
"His bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by
the hands of the mighty God of Jacob."
- Genesis 49:24
That strength which God gives to his Josephs is real strength; it is not a
boasted valour, a fiction, a thing of which men talk, but which ends in
smoke; it is true-divine strength. Why does Joseph stand against
temptation? Because God gives him aid. There is nought that we can do
without the power of God. All true strength comes from "the mighty God of
Jacob." Notice in what a blessedly familiar way God gives this strength to
Joseph-"The arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty
God of Jacob." Thus God is represented as putting his hands on Joseph's
hands, placing his arms on Joseph's arms. Like as a father teaches his
children, so the Lord teaches them that fear him. He puts his arms upon
them. Marvellous condescension! God Almighty, Eternal, Omnipotent, stoops
from his throne and lays his hand upon the child's hand, stretching his
arm upon the arm of Joseph, that he may be made strong! This strength was
also covenant strength, for it is ascribed to "the mighty God of Jacob."
Now, wherever you read of the God of Jacob in the Bible, you should
remember the covenant with Jacob. Christians love to think of God's
covenant. All the power, all the grace, all the blessings, all the
mercies, all the comforts, all the things we have, flow to us from the
well-head, through the covenant. If there were no covenant, then we should
fail indeed; for all grace proceeds from it, as light and heat from the
sun.
No angels ascend or descend, save upon that ladder which Jacob saw, at
the top of which stood a covenant God.
Christian, it may be that the archers have sorely grieved you, and shot
at you, and wounded you, but still your bow abides in strength; be sure,
then, to ascribe all the glory to Jacob's God.

SOLI DEO GLORIA!
Thank you for that beautiful hymn, one of my favorites. It is certainly appropriate for our President during these trying times -- and for all of us.
Thank you for joining in prayer with us, Pegita.
How timely a message from Dr. Spurgeon. Thank you, dear brother in Christ!
May our President, Vice-President, and troops feel the power of the Spirit, comforting, defending, and strengthening them.
Amen to your prayer for the power of the Spirit to be with our President, Vice-President, and troops!
Joining you in prayer and an extra one for ohioWfan.
And thank you, onyx, for the prayer. Putting on the full armor of God!
Amen to todays Prayers!!
God Bless our President!!
11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints
