I have never heard an arguement for so-called abortion rights that isn't logically suspect or an outright lie.

Abortion proponents lost the debate years ago. That they will eventually lose the public policy fight is inevitable.

Abortionists are the abulance chaisers of the medical profession... anyone who would trust their life to someone who's primary practice is destroying life is far far far more likely to wind up injured or dead.

I can't believe that the AMA hasn't called them for what they are.... They joke dentists are doctors who failed the state boards, I'd say Abortionists are dentists who failed state boards... How could anyone who is seriously interested in medicine and spends 8 years or more getting there and is truly good at it say, hey, I know.. I'll kill babies in horrific, painful and cruel ways for a few hundred dollars a pop?

Just something to think about.

Before y'all get tto enthusiastic y'all ought to read thearticle. I think she is comparing rates and laws without considering other factors, like wealth and quality of medical care- i.e. other factors that could explain lower death rates. So I gotta call shenanigans.

BTW The World Mortality Report: 2005 is a 470 page document and I can't pretend to have read the whole thing but it looks like this article is not correctly representing the conclusions...

Its well known that child birth has risks for the mother. Avoiding those risks is not justification for killing your child. That need to be the message rather than falsely denying there are risks.

A baby is not an inconvenience; it is huge commitment that many people do not want. However these same people want to have sex. When contraceptives do not work or are forgotten, the only way to abandon that commitment is to abort (or kill or murder – whatever you prefer) the child.

Are these children sacrificed upon an alter of convenience? Yup. Is an abortion an act of selfishness, of putting your needs ahead of a child’s? Yup. But you know what? If people are selfish that’s their business. If people want to abandon what you think are adult responsibilities to embrace a shallow life of self indulgence, it isn’t your problem.

Thus, if your true concern is for the child, and only that a child does not die via abortion, then the best course of action is to make sure that the child is never conceived in the first place. And since people really like to have sex, particularly the shallow fornicating kind, I recommend supporting really good birth control. I’m thinking vasectomies. They work real well, and are reversible.

But it would decrease the incidence of breast cancer.

I can't believe the UN would let a study like this out.

Ireland, however, where abortion is illegal and with health care comparable to the US, has the lowest rate of the four countries with only 5 deaths for every 100,000 births.

Thankfully, but the scandalous X-Case ruling could legalise abortion on demand.

Truth. Abortion hurts and kills more than just the baby.
