I am just over half through "Ghost Wars" by Steve Coll where I read that at one point the taliban had been deemed useful of for no other reason than they reduced contact with bin laden from "Iraq and Iran". If this was commonly held in the late nineties what's up with the current propaganda ?
The current agenda by the democrats is to lie and demonize every word out of the president's mouth.
The agenda by the president is to fight the war on terror and not care what people think. But it is a mistake, imo, to disregard so thoroughly what people think. That has the result of lessening support for our troops, the war in general, and emboldens the democrats.
If the administration were to play smarter politics, they would discuss some of the rock solid evidence we have that Saddam and OBL were involved. In the 90's, this is what was written before all this became a political football:
