Britain needs a "baby boom" to avoid substantial tax rises, according to a report yesterday which found that women want far more babies than they have.
An ageing population means taxes will have to rise to maintain spending on health, pensions and other public services, said the report by the Institute of Public Policy Research.
Now this is funny considering one of the major reasons people are not having children is 'rising taxes and fees'.

This is just a wild stab in the dark but what about being allowed to work on after retirement age.
The problem is not so much the falling birth rate but more the case that people are living into there 80s and 90s and many of them would of been happy to carry on working.
We don't need immigration we don't need baby breeding factories, we need to be allowed to in fact encouraged to work right into our 70s and even 80s.
We also need a change in employers attitude that duffers like me are past it in our 40s.
When finances get tight in our household we do something almost miraculous by todays standards.
We cut spending. It's become readily appearant to me, that when people enter politics their memories are wiped clean.
