The Palestinian Authority will become a de facto "terrorist entity" after the radical Hamas movement heads up a new government, Acting Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Sunday.
"It is clear that with a majority for Hamas in parliament and with the formation of a government under the leadership of Hamas, the Palestinian Authority will become a de facto terrorist entity and Israel cannot accept this," Olmert told his cabinet.
His comments came at the start of the meeting where the government was set to impose a series of sanctions against the Palestinian Authority, including a freeze on the payment of customs duties.
A new Palestinian parliament was sworn in on Saturday, dominated by Hamas after the Islamist movement's landslide general election victory on January 25.
Palestinian Authority president Mahmud Abbas is also expected to hold talks in Gaza City later Sunday to ask Hamas to head up a new government.
Will there EVER be peace there? These groups have been fighting forever it seems.

Yeah, it's when people stopped believing it's NOT cool to die for allah. That will probably takes decades if not centuries to change. In the meantime we have got to get nasty. Too bad only half of America feels that way, the other half are just trying to be "sensitive".
