WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Vice President Dick Cheney should publicly explain his shooting of a Texas lawyer in a hunting accident, top congressional Democrats said on Wednesday after a White House meeting that included Cheney. Cheney has been publicly silent since he sprayed Harry Whittington with birdshot during a quail-hunting trip to Texas last Saturday.

Kudos to eyespysomething for finding this!
What update. This story is like beating a dead horse. There is no more info other then what has been already reported.
Media is cracking me up. Even liberal friends find the entire situation by them comical.
I often thought that too. It would take an instant for a companion to go off and shoot one of them or have an accident (which happened here).
Remote possibility but the chance IS there.
Recommendation to Cheney (aka DEADEYE)and Staff:
Take the Dems making the demands on a hunting trip....
You know, I couldn't think of the name either.
I would rather see Dick Cheney show up to preside over the Senate with his shotgun--and maybe his hair trigger will keep the Demonrats in line.
I thought this article was a Scrappleface satire!
The White House spokesman should put on his Miss Manners hat, and point out to the press corps that there is a private individual who sustained a serious accidental injury during the course of a private recreational activity, and that it is not the place of the White House or of Vice President Dick Cheney to announce and explain the incident to the world, given that it's entirely possible that the injured man and his family aren't eager to have hordes of media circus performers descend on them and disrupt their lives at this difficult time. No way should Mr. Cheney or anyone associated with the White House make anything even vaguely resembling an apology for keeping this quiet for as long as they could.
I think Cheney's 'gonna dislodge the cottage-cheese between their ears @ 6:00PM.
