Clinton Challenge (A Possible New Clinton GOP Challenger For Her Senate Seat!)

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- A former Defense Department official who has been out of government for 20 years is considering entering the race for the Republican nomination to challenge Hillary Rodham Clinton's re-election bid.

Kathleen "K-T" McFarland of Manhattan says she'll decide within two weeks whether to run for the G-O-P's Senate nomination.

McFarland was a deputy assistant secretary of defense for public affairs from 1982 to 1985. She has been out of government since then and has never run for public office.

Republican Party leaders in New York have been looking for an abortion-rights-supporting woman to challenge Hillary Clinton.

McFarland, a mother of five and grandmother of three, fits that description.

So far the front-runner for the G-O-P nomination has been former Yonkers Mayor John Spencer, an anti-abortion conservative.

So, Sen. Clinton still has the files on your pick, as well as this gal.

Her Presidency is set in stone.

Yet all the GOP leades are patting themselves on the back totally blind to the fact that we are about to get massacred. You say stupid, I say that's being nice.

I'm not so sure that even her nomination is set in stone - she may be perceived as not electable because of all the high negatives.

ROTFLMBO!!! Fortunately for all of us, the Presidential election involves more than just New York.

Fortunately the numbers I'm seeing don't back up your negative opinion.

What numbers? Not to be counter productive here, but it would be foolish to suggest that the majority of Americans are generally happy with the performance of the GOP since the 2004 election. Almost every analysis I have read suggests that we will lose seats in both houses.

OK, let me put it that way. If the GOP stays even, or by some chance even picks up seats this year, it will not be because of their stellar performance, but rather the complete ineptitude of the Democrats.
