Since it's Valentine's day, I wanted to spot light 3 happy marriages. I chose, The Reagan's, The Bush's and the Bush's. You can see by the way they look at each, these couples have found their true love.

*His proposal was a simple one over dinner, "Let's get married." Her response was, "Let's."
In 1952 President Reagan married Nancy Davis
*The couple walked hand in hand always, and they often left love notes for one another.
*Nancy: "What can you say about a man, who on Mother's Day sends flowers to his mother-in-law, with a note thanking her for making him the happiest man on Earth?"
*Nancy: "My life began with Ronnie"
*Book by Nancy Reagan: I Love You, Ronnie: The Letters of Ronald Reagan to Nancy Reagan.
*The memories were many, including the good times the Reagans shared on their California ranch, which Ronald Reagan called "Rancho Del Cielo" - or Ranch of Heaven

George and Barbara Bush met at a Christmas dance in 1941 They became engaged a year and a half later, just before he went off to war as a Navy torpedo bomber pilot. By the time George returned on leave, Barbara had dropped out of Smith College. Two weeks later, on January 6, 1945, they were married. After George graduated from Yale after World War II, Barbara and George moved out to Texas to start their life together.

George and Laura met at a back yard barbeque at the home of mutual friends and were married three months later. George took Laura to a miniature golf course on their first date.
*Small wedding married on November 5, 1977
*Laura: "We had known each other about 2-1/2 months," she says of the proposal, "but I knew I wanted to marry him."
*Laura: "George and I have learned one important thing: whatever happens in life, we handle it."
*George: "I saw an elegant beautiful woman who turned out not only to be elegant and beautiful, but very smart and willing to put up with my rough edges, and I must confess has smoothed them off over time."
*On November 25, 1981, George and Laura's fraternal twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna, were born.

The Greatest Thing In The World

Read:

Now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. —1 Corinthians 13:13

Well-known scientist and writer Henry Drummond (1857-1897) conducted a geological survey of South Africa and wrote what was then the definitive work on tropical Africa. But he is best remembered for his book about love, The Greatest Thing In The World.

Drummond wrote, "As memory scans the past, above and beyond all the transitory pleasures of life, there leap forward those supreme hours when you have been enabled to do unnoticed kindnesses to those round about you, things too trifling to speak about . . . . And these seem to be the things which alone of all one's life abide."

Paul warned that impressive gifts and spectacular deeds may be little more than empty noise (1 Corinthians 13:1). Our best efforts—if bereft of love—ring hollow. "Though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, . . . but have not love, it profits me nothing" (v.3). The smallest loving act can hold eternal significance.

No matter our age or status in life, we all can strive to love others as God loves them. We may accomplish great things in our life—gain fame and fortune—but the greatest thing is to love. For of all that we have done, or ever will do, only love endures. We depart, but love abides. —David Roper

Thank you so very much for the work etc. I will be gone a good part of day(3 dates!!!...breakfast/dog walk; lunch ; dinner/movie).. whew. Lord, We thank You for those who are serving in our armed forces. Each day they are making brave sacrifices so that our country can remain strong and free. Keep them safe under the shelter of Your wings. And Lord, for their families back home——whose loving support enables our armed forces, to do all that they are called on to do——we ask that You comfort them and give them Your peace...the peace that passes all understanding. Amen
